Default Internet Service Providers that dont need a land line?

Anyone know of any?

Me and the Mrs will be moving into our new flat in the next month or so. We both have mobiles so I dont see the point in having a landline.

But a lot of ISP's want you to have a land line before they will install broadband

Anyone know any ISP's that wont ask for a land line or require one installed first?

Hiya Mate,
IMO for you those lil USB plug n play sticks are great ~ plus (if you are using laptops)
you can go Anywhere in UK and Surf !!!
They really are good~quality and reasonable if you get the right deal for you..
Bear in mind i am in scotland in a kinda remotish place n i am sure they are even better where you are...

I don't think you need to have a landline if you get Cable.

Nice idea, but...

i) I have an iPhone which I can plug into my mac as a modem to get the 3G internet access and can surf on the internet on the iPhone too..

ii) For what I want it for, PS3 gaming, downloading DJ Mixes, playing flash games and looking at internet porn... its gonna jut be to damn slow.

Cable FTW if you dont want land line.

As been said - dongles are shit. Even if your in an area with good signal your limited in speed and it costs a lot of money to get an equivilent download limit compared to normal packages.

Im going virgin as soon as i can. Had to get a phone line with gay BT and ive only used the thing once

ah sort of. i.e its cheaper to have the phone or a tv package than just BB on its own.
i can't find my package on there tho i get 10meg BB,phone, small tv for Ł14/mth
BB alone is 10m for Ł5/mth for the first 3 plus Ł11 for the phone line (which you must have) then it goes to
Ł14/mth + Ł11 for the phone line = Ł25/mth

3 kinds of broadband available to joe blogs in UK

1) xDSL, needs BT landline as thats it uses the copper phoneline
2) Cable, only on offer from virgin media, needs to be ina cable TV area
3) 3G, usesa "mobile broadband dongle" these are great if you need mobility anywhere in the UK, but for home use theyre wank

just get a fucking phone line

Yes, I know there is a way of doing it. I have read about it in a couple of mags, do some tomfoolery of some discription and you have a 3G dongle for your laptop. I think there are aps you can buy in AppStore which can do it.

most mobile phones can be used as modems and will operate in exactly the same way as a mobile dongle.

i quite often use my blackbery for 3g access to my laptop on the train, it just eats into your allowed bandwith on your data tariff
