Default Help please erst stalling probs.

Hi guys,

having a minor problem with my rs,it stalls randomly, and if i rev it with a bit of grunt and let go, when it drops to 1k it just cuts out.

been told it could be a vacuum problem? or blocked breathers?

was thinking of getting a piperx crankcase breather also.

the elbow coming of the left side of the rocker cover is also a bit of a weird shape.could it be this causing the problem?

any help/advice much appreciated

jamie

I was gonna say the same as the above. The mfi engines need a good vacumn or they will just keep cutting out.

theres also the breather on the other end of the rocker cover, on the right.
This one was more of a problem on all 4 of my cvh engines.

Well if it doesnt look right ie if its kinked it might be causing the fault.Do you have any better pics of that pipe.

I always thought they had these little pot thingys (techincal i know!)

However Mine has just started doing the same thing and after an hour of checking every vacuum pipe twice, dip stick etc etc, it tunrt out to be a tiny split in the bottom brake servo! Which was obviously sucking in a bit of extra air, enough to make it stall.

Take the litle black pipe off that comes from the servo into the inlet plenum. and stick a finger in the hole in the plenum, then start the car, should run then. ( not very well obviously )
