Default Vecta Immobilisers

I've recently bought a K reg Saph Cos that has the Vecta Immobiliser as fitted by Ford (same as the one that came in the Escort Cossie). Thing is, I've only got one key so if I loose my keys - I'm up that creek without and all that. I can't seem to find details of Vecta on the web. Does anyone know if they've gone bust or if not, what their phone number/website is....????

I spoke to Collins a few years ago who used to be vecta suppliers and there advice was to remove it as nobody carried spares. Hope that helps.

my mate had one of these immobilisers on his Xr2i when it got nicked at uni in Brum He had parked it on a hill and the thieves broke in and rolled it down the road into another side street where they attempted to bypass it - but couldnt. Even the AA man didnt have a clue.

I would say its worth it IMO - altho my mate didnt want the car back.

Took the word right out of my mouth. I bought my saff with a Vecta on, & within a week the thing started playing up, cutting the engine while driving etc.

For the sake of a Ł100+ get a new one mate.
