cold start valve over fueling when warm?????????? try unplugging it after urve started it in the morning & see what happens, wont do any harm to check (its the blue multiplug on the cold start injector under throttle body at back of inlet)

FAO daz1989, something to try before you go changing the relay stated by markparker73. Next time it does it get something solid but not too heavy (small hammer would be ideal) and tap the solenoid on the starter motor. I used to have exactly the same problem on my Mk3 XR3i many years ago. When it used to get warm the solenoid would stick and would need a sturdy tap to free it. You tend to notice it at petrol stations because the engine doesn't have time to cool down in the 2-3 minutes that it takes to get fuel. Once mine had cooled down it was fine. If this doesn't work then try changing the relay.

Yea, my old bean tin did this too... IIRC the starter has a heatshield on there from factory, but it rots off after a while, which after time/many heat cycles causes problems starting once it gets toasty.
Thats what I was told when I put up similar symptoms all those years back... changed the starter and it was bang on again.
Cheers,
Grant

No idea mate, this was about 5 or 6 years ago now... all I remember is that I couldn't shift a bolt, got really angry and left the car in my garage on axle stands for a week before going back to it with a mate who knew what he was doing.
A new starter wasn't too pricey, so I just went for a complete replacement.
