just remembered we were flyin to nat day a different year ex cork and we had a 330 ap including bells, rotors and caliper/pads stuffed in a gear bag to try for carry on.justin had it on his back and he bent over in customs for something and couldnt get back up.that raised suspisions or maybe it was the xray scan that gave it away...
the years we brought cars they would always go home well lowered....lol

i saw a escort cosworth in italy for sale and really liked it because it was a rare miki biasion model with the very early unusual leather trim and leather doorcards.
i agreed to come over and buy it,matey was all for me sending the dough over and me then collecting it,me knowing a bit about cozzies insisted on seeing it first.
so i went to avis and hired a car,3 in the morning i drove from chester to stanstead in the hire car with the clan and dropped it off so i could get a flight to pescara which is the totally opposite side of rome. we get there and matey took us to see the car and fook me it had been up the side of one of italys round shaped tunnels they like to have everwhere. it had been in such a big bang that it had been hit on the side and shoved the other side over,it had had rear qtrs and a back panel all done to a edgy standard. the tappets were ticking very loud and the brake warning light was on.
i was going to drive the fucker back with the mrs and nipper in it all the way through italy etc. anyway i said fook it and there i was stranded in italy with no return ticket and the mrs not very happy.
some of you lot go a few hrs to look at a car thats a wasted journey and moan.... i was out for 3 fookin days

We bought a Capri from Scotland once, just from seeing the ad, took a chance, flew up in the morning, got to Prestwick about 9.30, drove it back, got back to Wycombe by 4pm.

Testing the future
whilst living in germany i won the auction for a white 3 door in london fitted with a v6 lump that i intended on putting the running gear from my crashed cossie into.
i flew over and had the tunnel booked for the return. the 3 door was a right shed and i had naively neglected to ask if they had the v5 (which they didn't) so i didn't buy it. ended up buying a 2.0 dohc sierra to drive back in

Haha, legend!
Top excuse for a quick holiday too!
I'll probably progress onto things like that soon..... so far my best have been...
1. Blowing up a Mondeo on the M6 and whilst sitting on the hard shoulder realising that I'm wasting away my car life..... Then subsequently spending a week in Birmingham car shopping only to drive home in my Capri.
2. Searching for a 5dr MK4 Escort Estate in Mercury Grey for 3 months.
Found one for sale in Wimbeldon, so I got on the overnight bus from Glasgow and met the guy 12 hours after the advert was posted.
3. Travelling to London again, this time buying an XR2 that was being slated on this site for a few hundred quid. (turned out to be a bargain!). Didn't really need it but I liked it and my girlfriend ended up needing a car so all was well.
