i was thinking about the E46 M3 i just want a car i can drive to work everyday and then go on the tracks and know ill be getting home ok

i dont know, driving the saff is hard work now, all ive acheived it seems is making an expensive car i dont like driving because it hurts

im hurting all over

 

If its breaking in a month or so - dibbs on the bara box

 

over fuelling on cylinder 2, badly...

it may be the injector got damaged when the valve seat broke up...

but im getting fed up

 

did you intend for it to be an everyday car or just weekends and tracks?

well one thing is for certain, if that fookin engine has to come apart again...it aint going back together

it runs sweet, goes like hell, cruises at 15:1 afr, but as soon as i over run down a hill, it goes onto 3 cylinders, no 2 spark plug will be soaked in fuel, when i get to the bottom, i have to swap plugs then its fine again...

 

i cruised home today, and dipped the clutch on every hill, to avoid over run situations, removed the plugs at home and.....

 

im gonna swap injectors tomorrow and see if the fault moves cylinders

 

Swap the injector on number 2 to another cylinder and see if it follows - if so, ring tomorrow and we'll try and sort a solution for you

 

Good idea fella, hopefully it will be a cheap fix

i just have visions of it being something horrible

compressions are dead even hot and cold, loom is new, ecu was tested not long ago,

i dont know what else it can be really,

i dont get why it runs fine, then does this on over run, i suppose the injector could be firing consantly, during the normall running it masks the fault and burns the fuel off, but it causes agro on over run

 

As said got to be something silly' like a leaking injector? You have swapped the plugs over already haven't you Jay

yep that man is correct, the power , refinement, quality,comfort, reliability, looks style, image, etc etc etc are REALLY boring the arse off me

Pull the fuel reg pipe off the penum and suck hard, see if you can suck fuel through it.

 

its an aeromotive reg stu, does the same apply to them? i picks it vaccum up from a remote unit which runs off the rear of the swedish plenum

 

I have just changed all 4 of my plugs as they all look like your Number 2 plug

Mine is so rich on start up it missfires. Even after getting the car to Temp and going for a good drive the still look like that

I had this problem many years back and it turned out to be my plug leads!!

 

Dont say that ian he has just bought fancy leads

Did you roll the arches or put them straight on?

 

Well its not my new leads as this morning was the first time i had even started the car after fitting them.

Car run a bit better on my old plugs, but im still not happy

its not injector, its not plug lead, i reckon its something with the bore, maybe i honed it to much to remove the damage from the valve seat,

ive had enough tbh, ive lost interest after what happened last time
