I am not stupid enough to assume what either car was doing in that video. I don't remember reading the text "Head 2 head race between Focus RS and Megane".

I thought it was quite clear that it was just two cars on the ring, doing their own thing, whatever that may be, and in traffic. But then I suppose that wasn't clear to some people?

 

It can't be. That engine breaks at 160hp never mind 225. I'd still buy one though but I'd be buying it with no intention of having friends.

Lets face it, Its hardly likely the 2 cars were racing each other. They may have had a little play now and then but its more probable that they were both just being tested. Unless its in a controlled enviroment with all things equal its not really a race is it?

EVERY test of the R26R I have seen is on the option tyre, as is the ringtime etc etc

At the end of the day, the R26R is a quick car, but is shit as a 'car'. Out of the 250 allocated to the UK there are still 85 unsold and they've been here over 12 months

How many Focus are unsold?

 

Well I've got my RS now and I think its great. I don't really get why people are comparing it with the Renault as they are so different. The Renault is light and nippy with no back seat and plastic windows. The Focus has a boot, back seats, air con, Sony 6CD, sat nav and goes like the clappers. Its also great round town just pottering around. It really is a complete package, a real usable car that also handles like its on rails and will see most others off hence it being rather in demand and pretty much adored wherever it goes.


No contest really. Track times mean very little in the real world, you have to live with the thing afterall.

 

What is it better at? A 'horse'?

The R26R has a boot.... infact its got a bigger boot than all the other megans as the cargo net allows you to cram more in, its got no parcelshelf and there is all the space between the scaffolding.... its a perfectly useable every day car.

I don't get why one has to be better than the other. Nothing to do with being fair, they both have merits and people choose with their wallets. If I'd have wanted the Renault I'd have bought one, I didn't like the old Focus but really liked the RS so that was the car for me.

I've got a VXR Nurburgring and I think its a cracking car, totally nuts. Doesn't matter what forum your on, lots of good cars out there.

It's a great weekend toy, but theres a lot better toys for the cash and as an everyday car it's not practical. Fact bourne out by the quantity thay cant sell!

your wrong again, 230 were meant to make there way over to the U.K but only 159 were sold, they were built to order so none came over non sold unless the car was built and then the order was cancelled

also yes most of the reviews have had the option tyre but i didn't say they didn't so that point was pretty pointless

and yes not focuses are unsold but i suspect the focus has a much bigger market than the .R and it is a bl00dy good car, although to commen for my liking

EDIT: to put the ringtime to bed, the focus was tested by a german magazine round the ring and the best they could do was a 8:26 they then tested it with R888's and the best they could do was 8:25, the 888's dont make much difference because the focus is to full of lard so the tyres were shot pretty quick as well
