Default New Focus RS - failures causing delay

So what's the component failure on the engine that's caused all the imminent delivery dates to be delayed?

1st March delivery dates which were supposed to go into build next Monday have gone from the Ford system and are now supposed to be early April according to dealer. Delays at factory are blamed....but the rumour is supposed to be an engine component failure

Press heresay or have you seen it yourself?

I have a paper copy of the Revoknuckle patent application ( which is pat pend I believe ) so I very much doubt its the same on the Renault...it may work on the same principles but it isnt the same

Ford have patented the design of the lower bush. The 'RevoKnuckle' principle is not new at all, in fact British Leyland came up with the idea in the 60's!

As said Renault have been using the deisgn for years, and it's standard on some Peugeot Coupes too.

All marketing and a clever move to Patent a cerain part, thus making everyone beleive the complete deisng is new and revolutionary. RevoKnuckle will reduce torque steer, but it won't help out with grip in most situations.

Ah ok, just thought someone might have a contact on the inside that knew what the component failure was that was causing the last minute delay

I already knew that and said it. The Renault may well work on the same principle but isnt the same hence the friking patent!

Either way, its not an engine component and its not causing failures

Flux capacitor probably isn't operating at full efficiency and overheating.

Someone on the EVO mag forum saw one recently...

I mentioned on the Spots thread that I saw an RS with some panels still covered in disguise, heading for Wales down the M50 on Saturday. Seemed a bit late to be doing final sign off, so maybe there's more to it than just the factory?

Well yes, we know there are built examples in existence - we've seen them in Cardiff and in the car mags. Just wondered what had caused the 1st March delivery dates to be delayed? No real firm info ( short time at factory, engine component failures etc )

Do you know why the first batch are delayed then IFD?

It set the same time as the 225bhp Renault Megane. Yes, it's stripped out so unfair but still...

Theres a huge difference between a stripped out car and a fully trimmed one full of kit.

As anybody with a decent trackday toy will tell you

Ford are probably on Stop at one of their suppliers and can't get a few critical parts made for the R.S.

today i was at jp cars roermond ( biggest european cosworth seller )
he knows 1 of the guys who are working from day 1 on the new focus rs project.

at this moment 26 cars where made, already 4 of that 26 cars has serious engine problems after a few miles.

so ford has stop the production and for this moment it is not sure wat the are going to do with the rs 2009 project it is even possible that the whole project will be canceled.

this is what i have heared today
