Your a higher risk!
Try adding an older driver as 2nd driver on the policy.
You just have to swallow your pride and pay silly prices to build up your NCB in the short term to benefit yourself in the long run.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
We're looking at getting a car for our youngest now, but even at 18 with a year as a full licence holder and a named driver on his mum's policy for all that time he's still over the £1k. Interestingly though, adding one or both parents increased the price wherever we tried it.

Unfortunately the statistics are not beneficial to your age as a large % of young newly qualified drivers either drive like idiots, cause high value accidents, drive under influence, etc, etc, etc so you are in the same bracket until you gain experience
I've had my license over 11 & 1/2 years & i still remember back in '97 after passing my test & having to fork out £1500 to insure a 1.3 lx escort
It does get better though - get 2 years accident & point free dricing under you & your premiums will be a fair bit lower at which point you should be able to get insurance on an RS
