A toad alarm will lock the doors if it is started with all the doors closed, but if the car is started with one or more doors open it wont automatically lock the doors when they are shut.

It senses that a door is open when starting and disables the auto locking function.

Just re-read the question! I think I understood it wrong!!!

I wouldnt have thought the remote locking would work with the engine running tbh.

If you press the lock button with the doors closed engine running it just locks the doors, have never tried it with second remote but think it will be the same, also unlocks with the engine running. does anybody know how to turn off the auto lock as its a pain in the arse in my opinion

Once again you've managed to create a thread and drag something out for an hour and a half that would have taken you 30 seconds to find out on your own

Have a fucking medal!

I wouldn't fuck about with it tbh mate. I've got remote start and all sorts going on in mine so I generally don't like to fuck about with it. The other day I was doing a dash diagnostic and because I turned ignition on and off 3 times it went into emergency override mode . I've never tried it but with the KOER, if you press the lock button on the remote it should lock the doors *I think* but if you've unlocked and un immobilized with one fob (primary one) it might not like the fact you are trying to use the second fob with the engine running and ignition on. You might get yourself into all sorts of shit.

It doesn't naff it up at all.... we do it all the time.... if you are that bothered, just take the fob off the keys..... get in it, start the car and get out.... 20 seconds later you'll be locked out of the car anyway LOL

That's using the same fob though, not the second fob.

Using the secong fob to lock/unlock works ok - I used to do it with my truck on a cold morning - start it, shift it to where I needed it, lock it with spare fob, enjoy coffee, unlock with spare fob, goto work

The door lock works whether the engine is running or not, if doors are open it will attempt to lock, and sense one lock has not engaged, depending on type of lock(some will) cossies's wont and then immediately unlock.
So yes start with one fob on keys lock with another.
There is a possibility of AUTOLOCK even when a door HAS been opened, thius is due to dirty contact switches, ie it doesn't sense a door has been opened so you start car open door to get out 10 seconds after starting autolock kicks in, so make sure none of the door switches are ropey.
The autolock can be disabled by going through the KEY positions with the FOUR digit code you got with the alarm.
You can also enable or disable the BEEP on arm/disarm or alter the beep volume to one of 3 levels, but even quiet level is loud.
They should come with beep on arm/disarm disabled as it is illegal in rest of europe due to noise pollution.

Rather it autolock than not. Let's face it, would you leave your car on your drive with the keys in it running and leave it? Not in this country......

At least as well with the perimeter sensor, I immediately know when someone is either stood at the side of it or passing it on my driveway.
