No info on there:

The Barry Boys include: Mike, Charlie, Mark, Tim, Mathew, Mickey , Christopher, Nicholas ,Owen and Dublin.
The Barry Girls include: Robin, Norma, Dianna, Paula, Caitlin ,Megan and Talia
Mike was the oldest of the four. He passed on April 13th, 2005.leaving his lovely wife Robin and three kids,Colin, ( Mattie and Millie. 2 Yorkies ).
Charlie is next. He resides in Morgantown , WV with his lovely wife Norma. They have two sons, Mathew and Mickey and 3 GrandChildren, Owen, Dublin and Talia.
Mark is the third on the list. He resides in Atlanta Georgia with his lovely wife, Dianna and their two daughters Caitlin and Megan.
Tim is last but not least. Being the last born...he was the spoiled brat...not really, but we like to make him think he was. He resides in Morgantown, WV also , along with his lovely wife Paula, along with their two boys , Christopher and Nicholas.
There will be more interesting facts about each and every one of us, as soon as I can get them to write it....this may be a chore..but it seems that anything the Barry Boys get involved with...is always a chore..so keep check'n back and see who has the most initiative...........in the mean time, check out some of the pic's that are under "Photos"...Cya around.

Best and only advise there is on the subject.
Wait untill u can afford a real one
You cant see it now, (we've all been there one way or another), but you will regret it.
Why not "lower" your standards, and spend the same if not less money on something like an Rs Turbo.
You will be proud of it
People wont point and laugh at you down the street
When you sell it you WILL get your money back
And i dare say a standard rst will be cheaper to insure than a escos rep!!!
When i was at uni over 6 years back, i was so bored, one day i bought a S1 rst on the internet. was a basket case, not been on the road for 8 years, and was in bits, most chucked in the car and half of it missing.
no wheels no interior etc.
£600 i paid for it and the chap trailered it from manchester to essex for an extra £100.
here it is:

I sold it 2 years ago just shy of £6000k
The total restoration (including buying the car, painting it, mot and tax) which I did myself and with help from a mate (as i had no money to pay anyone) Cost me about £3000.
Many hours hunting on ebay and at ford shows, but thats how i kept costs down.
Dont forget this was an S1, and parts were hard to find even back then.
If you bought something like say a complete mot fail S2, then it wouldnt take much money or skills to bring it back to life.
dont forget also with RS's standard it the new modification, i gurantee if u do the car to factory spec you will instantly make it more desireable.
And as for "what about the speed?"
Well an escos rep is gna be dog slow and a standard rst will piss over it anyway.
And also in the bigger picture, power and speed are really not as exciting as u think.
As you get older u realsie your not the next colin mc rae and your not indestructable.
It normally takes a prang, brush with the law or a even loosing a mate to realise this.
400bhp if immense fun, but unless you on the track, its really not that great.
And also the "hunger" for more power will never go away
Also recenlty i bought a 1993 LUX Big Turbo Escort Cosworth, and i have to tell you. for me it has been a case of
"You should never meet your heros"
or to quote a song
"when all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed"
dont get me wrong it was a great car, but the novelty soon wore off.

I really hope you read this advise and have a serious think. Its very easy to dream and get fixated on something (i do it all the time, im looking at 911 turbos at the mo, even tho i really shouldn't).
The trick is to look foward, at the bigger picture.
Something like a standard RST you have restored your self will not only give you far greater pleasure and satisfaction, but also come resale day, all that hard work and money you should come away with a profit or at the least break even.
hope this has helped.

Mate trust me you will be paying more to insure a cossie rep with a 1.3 hcs than a standard unfettled 1.6 RST!!
Go and get some quotes, think you will be supprised.
You will be amazed how much insurance is a big factor in runing a car, it is something lots of people dont budjet for.
Oh and i was paying £3200 last year to insure my cars!

As other people have said, it's very difficult to do an Escort Cossie rep and make it look right. A lot of the kits make the front wheels sit wrongly (too far back) in the arches and because you're building on an Escort shell/chassis rather than the Escort which was built on a modified Sierra floorpan it'll be somewhat smaller. And the fibreglass always ends up cracking and looking crap anyway, and it's hard to get a good unrippled paint finish.
There are a few good ones about, but they've had a LOT of money spent on them to get them that way.
And you'll find if you tell your insurance it's got an Escort Cosworth bodykit on it (which you'll have to if you want your insurance to be valid) they probably won't even want to insure you at all.
As others have said, you might be better waiting a bit and getting a PROPER RS Turbo or something, you'll get the power and the fun then.

Have a read of the Rep thread in the Escort Cos section, might give you both points of view.
If it was me I'd save like mad & build up your NCB. That way you can buy the real thing in a few yrs time.

dont do it, years ago when i was 17 a friend of mine built a Escos rep, 1.3L engine, spent loads of money on it and it looked quite good tbh, but when he came to insure it, the lowest quote was nearly 5K, evidently he had to sell it at a massive loss, ended up buying a 309 GTi and bearing in mind this was over 10 years ago, was massivelly cheaper to insure

Just as an example when I was a youngster I bought an RS Turbo bodykit for my 1.3L Escort Mk4 and thought I'd check with the insurance before I got it fitted, and they said if I fitted it they wouldn't insure me at all.
It was actually cheaper to insure a real RS Turbo than a lower powered car with a kit on it.

A couple of examples of Escort Cosworth replicas currently available. Hmmm, nice.

If you really must do it, to make it stand any chance of looking right you need an early H-K and possibly L registerered Mk5 3 door Escort, because the Escort Cossie was based on the look of the early Mk5 rather than the facelifts. As you can see it's very easy to make something kak so the more you spend the better it will be.

Because of the cost of insurance on anything with modifications, its just not worthwhile doing unless you happen to live in an area where the most serious crime is peeing in public, even then, the fact you would be 17/18 would just financially cripple you unless you have alot of money. When I was 19 I paid £1300 for TPFT on a standard 1997 1.6 Si Escort, I daren't mod it then because it was just so expensive.
Really, the best bet is get something and keep it standard, and bide your time until insurance isnt like throwing money down the drain
Don't like replica's to be honest, costs ALOT to get one that looks tasty.
Personally I would way up the folowing...
Replica costs
base Car, kit, wheels, suspension, exhaust, trim(?) respray and bodywork - got to be in the region of 2-3k and then add on insurance (as said, may not be far off that of a genuin rst).
RST
You can get one needing a little work from 1k, spend 2 - 2.5k and get a ready to roll S2 than will whip your mates, looks the nuts and be the real macoy.
Another alternative is a car like the MK6 escort that are cheap, easy to style and come in a range of engine sizes to match your insurance needs.
In the main, many of us have done the replica route and looked back thinking "jesus, all that money wasted, I could have got a real one".

Mate really u should drop the escos rep idea!
We are all saying the same thing to you, and trust us we have been there, we have had everything from the halfords kitted 1.3 right up the the real deal escort cosworth.
Please Please dont waste your money, get a cheap S2 rst that need some work

aren't those the wrong shape? you need a mk5, something like a H, J, K plate escort?
Really though mate, listen to the advice, your heading down a long and expensive results with little fruits at the end of it.
No matter how good your rep looks, everyone will ask "is it real? and you'll hate saying no it is a replica.
What about doing your own style rather than doing a rep?? there was an aswome looking white mk5 escort in the picture gallery earlier that runs at the top of the home page- looked the nuts.

now I am liking this, maybe do something with the arches from a escos, some nice rims etc rather than just a reppy
