Just as an example when I was a youngster I bought an RS Turbo bodykit for my 1.3L Escort Mk4 and thought I'd check with the insurance before I got it fitted, and they said if I fitted it they wouldn't insure me at all.
It was actually cheaper to insure a real RS Turbo than a lower powered car with a kit on it.
