There's many things on ebay with added cosworth tax...the most blatant one that springs to mind is one well known seller on there who is currently got amongst his items a complete set of Cosworth scuttle panel screws etc for 7.99 plus postage but he also lists a xr4i scuttle panel screw kit (exact same kit and same bloody picture) for a quid less. I know its only a quid but it gives you an idea of the cosworth tax percentage

Before I buy anything off of ebay I check with my pals at ford to make sure that they are not available no more, weather strips that go between the front and rear does on a saph were going for 30 odd quid on ebay, still available at 11 quid a side, front bumper mounting brackets went for 41 quid the other day on the bay, madness by whoever bought them, still available at 7 quid each, if something is not available and I want it I will spend the money, it has to be done if you want a particular part,
I hoard stuff too you could build half a saph with the bits I have

that is 100% correct,a lot of this stuff is obsolete now but most is still available from ford.i got a pair of rear beam mounts for my sapph, they were £2.02 each,i had to see the picture to make sure as a seller i buy a lot of stuff from on ebay sells them for £25.i am to lazy to go to the dealer when the parts are on the screen in front of me but i will be going more in the future, all you are doing is lining somebodys pockets who can be arsed going to the dealers.

The cosworth tax is quite amusing.
I always go into my dealer in person to order. Ive found it helps prevent "NLA" responses im sure half the time if you ring NLA means "cant be arsed".
Plus in dealer if they look at me like an alien (as is usually the case if i ask for a cosworth part yet i have a puma) i can guide them to the exact part on the computer which is useful when i dont have a FINIS. I think the workshop manager must hate it when i come in as all the mechanics stop work and come out to look at car
Im glad theyve removed a lot of the restrictions on 909 parts for FRP's. I been stockpiling new bits for them for a while now same with some cosworth parts Got a cellar to fill before i will be happy
