it says that the clutch dust gets flicked into the starters not that thers a clutch in the starter motor, the clutch dust may jam the starter is what the guy is staiting.

You'll still need a starter and clutch and flywheel.

car ran fine but was put off the road for 8 months and out of mot, went to start it with charge pack and brand new battery after that, and after the ignition light it just clicks, not like a relay click when battery flat its like clicks once every second or 2

and if i put in gear with the clutch out and try crank it,it doesnt move forward or back

Take the starter off, it's probably just the gear stuck on the starter shaft, with dust and rust,
Clean up the shaft and make sure the gear moves free.
You can test it while it's off.

You should be able to see onto the flywheel ring gear when the starter is out to see if the teeth are on all the way round

.

if you strip and clean the starter it will work for a while but there usualy noisey after it and it wont last
it does mean that the flywheel is on the road out im afraid
oh and there is a clutch in the starter as well by the way
trust me on this 1, my work is a specialist starter and alternator repairers
and we do several of these every day

exactly, sod all the dual mass expensive crap, you can get a conversion which baicaly makes it a regular fit clutch & flywheel. its half the price of a dual mass fly wheel & just as good

suppliers can charge more for a mass !!!---(none mention convertions!!!-lol)
there is not as much money to be made in an old skool set up 3 piece.
most new fords have them now and luk seem to be the best(mass that is),
a point to remember most garages wont warranty a clutch if its not mass.
the big problem with newish cars is parts costs,i work for an east midlands factors and you can spend hundreds on sensors,
bring back dizzys and luminitions and big f-off webbers lol
everything was more fun then and costs to run was managable-this is why a big interest in mk2's etc------------and classic cars-weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

It's there to smooth out pulses in the modern turbo'd diesel engine cycle, allegedly.
