there was one for sale on here by a member, looked tasty. Few pages back.

Think there was an issue woth the instrument panel, meant replacing it. In the early days there was also a recall to have the spoiler fitted to the back iirc due to them becoming unstable at speed.

unfortunately they have loads of issues, knocking front suspension is common. Instrument panels seem to always break...coil packs go down all the time.

Good cars for the money though, but tediously slow and a little uninvolving to drive, but it has to be said they are great for tootling about in

I would go for a MK4 GTI mate, same engine, good cars to run around in, get it remaped for GTI performance.

Depending on your budget it's best go for the facelift TT (after 2001 with the 9 spoke alloys and all factory lowered).

The dashpod problem is fairly common but Audi now replace these after years of owners battling with Audi customer services (cost about £700). Coilpacks can go (as with all Audis) but are only about £25 and easy to change yourself.

My brother has had two TTs over the last 5 years before he recently swapped for a porsche 911 and always liked the TT.

If you're thinking about getting a TT THE BEST FORUM is http://www.tt-forum.co.uk/forum/

a good bunch who welcome newcomers.

The FAQs are a good place to start http://www.tt-forum.co.uk/forum/view...php?f=2&t=8582

my sister has a 53plate 225bhp quattro, its like driving looking through a letterbox !,make sure the lights work properly too.bulbs £120 !! i rung audi and said one of the headlight sometimes went out and they suggested it was the ignitor unit but to combat that problem you have to replace the headlight.self levelling or something and they cost £800
