I think that the rs2.7 guy is just saying not enough people are seriously into dragging their fwd fords cos it's alot easier to get a rwd which will do better times on a smaller investment

Like the vaux guys have said on here there aren't any decent cheap rwd vaux's so you all concentrate on the fwd, which becuase you have focused on them are now running spectacular times

whats the problem?

Chip you never answered the question about my car yesterday (in this therad) is that cos i've got no chance or cos you missed it?

What top speed was Sunny khalsa's fiesta, it was either 168 or 178mph iirc? I think when you look at a lot of the times the FWD fords put in, its obvious grip is the main factor.

A std RS Focus does a 1/4 in around 14secs with a low 212bhp compared to a seriously modded 300+bhp RST which is managing to shave a second of that time. Do people not bother with a suitable gearbox when building a big power RST?

Thats an excellent result, shame he no longer competes. It seems RST owners spend mega money on the engine and chrome bling and leave the rest to chance.

Says the bloke who doesn't know that using 150-190bhp of nitrous will make EVERYTHING as fast as his mates corsa !

From what Ive seen, there is a massive culture difference between the RST and VX lads.

The vauxhall lads in the main, just want to go quick as fuck, get round a track as well as possible, and do it all for sensible money.

The ford boys are more interested in mega money chromed up blingy engines that LOOK fast and cars that dont really handle.

Obvioulsy thats pidgeon holing people and as such isnt always correct, there are exceptions in both cases which I can think of, but thats the general trends IMHO

You seem to think nitrous is some magical traction enhancer, its good, but its not the answer all on its own, everything else has to be right too, and strong enough as well of course.

Now here be a question for the forum..

What tyres did the Corsa run for topspeed, i.e are they rated to 180+mph.

It was a tigra that did the 182 and another tigra that did the 169mph inside of a km

Not sure what tyres they were on, just "normal" road tyres though, like eagle f1's or whatever.
