Default Turbo choices

Lets have a technical discussion on turbo choices please!!
Lets assume we have a completely standard engine to start
(cossie or otherwise, I'm right in thinking this will be applicable to all turbo engines?)

I'm not bothered at the moment about the bhp. I'm interested in how a turbo is chosen to suit an engine. Having read several posts now, I understand it to be about gas flow, rather than just outright boost.

Can somebody please elaborate on these points? And correct me if i'm wrong.
I'd really like to know more, any input will be very gratefully received.

Thanks

Steve

It's simple, you choose the smallest turbo that'll efficiently give you the flow you need to achieve your target power.
