Default Ignition Computers/Controllers?

Does anyone know what's available? I'm after something that can adjust the base ignition map to suit a new engine spec on a non mappable car

I aren't too genned up on the Megajolt and MegaSquirt systems, all I know is that they are mappable systems you can build up really cheaply and people all over the net are now using them, here is a link to some Megasquirt info

www.bgsoflex/megasquirt.html

But I aren't sure if MegaSquirt can just be used for ignition, it's designed to do it all.

if you just want to adjust the base setting all over the range, i.e. retard it 6 degrees all over or whatever, i would say that the megajolt/squirt is too involved. maybe easier to just buy an MSD one as jim says.

but why would you want to do that, and can it not be done by turning the dizzy/phase sensor?

Yes i could adjust the dizzy, but thats not what i want to acheive. I want to be able to alter the timing at different points in the rev range. Trouble is there is no crank position sensor, and some of these things seem to need one. All i need is something that maybe can interupt the coil ground and retard/advance it.

I'm pretty sure the MSD stuff can do it, they even make some mappable electronic dizzies which replace some standard items.

Seems to be a full computer? Prob too much for what i need. Apexi do something along the right lines, but not sure if it will work without crank sensors.

C410 tooth operated trigger
C451 Fuel and ignition via dizzy
C460 Fuel and ignition via toothed trigger

Thats what Alan at DTA came back with
