Did R+D built 5sp dog boxes or only 6 ? Had a discussion with Jim yesterday and I told him they did because I saw 2-3 for sales, but maybe the guy meant a 6sp one ?

Aaah thank you markk ! I have seen they are harder to find than the 6sp ones however. If I can find a good one for less than 3k next summer, will take one I think (I mean a 5sp one).

ive never used one but alot of people i know who have prefer the 5speed to the 6 speed.
Yes, less gear changes, less weight, less parts to change when rebuilding it, and I don't think you lose too much on the acceleration due to 1 less gear.

can you get the low gearing you want in a 5speed though ?
I do think a 2.9 with 4.44 diffs and 600mm overall wheels is fast enough in 1st gear With 215/45-16 tyres, 4.44 diffs and the std MT75 box, I don't think I will use 1st gear often
But as I told ya mate, will probably get a 5sp R+D next summer, just have to find the right one at the correct price !
