Pail Blamire from Zen Performance (ie the batshit fast Impreza Time Attack car etc) made an interesting post I jus noticed though, but its way over my head with regard to how dynos work, so needs some expert commentary, or maybe Sheady or someone to reply on there...

It's worth noting the results for ROd's engine come from an engine dyno where you can hold the RPM until the boost rises. Unless you hold it on the brakes you're not going to see those torque levels at 4500rpm with normal driving.
they are just looking to pick holes to me! hes right in what your hes saying, but the same applys to all engines! so this one is no different! holding a rpm site till the torque dont increase no more is how you measure the peak values!

I know, Also we was limiting boost @4.4k as we could get 3.2bar there if we wanted, Also crusing at 4k then accel is diff than going from tickover to 4k as you already have the shaft speed so the boost threshold is better like that with twin scroll.

You need to go on there and put the record straight Mark, what you've done is the bollocks, but the Skyline scene is so full of shite that soon as someone does something good, nobody believes it.

There another thread on there where a R32GTR with about 700 at WHEELS (ie fucking LOADS!) has ran a 9sec quarter on road legal tyres, this is a semi stripped car, with serious gearbox, dry sump, allsorts, and there loads of people there REFUSING to believe it did it with that power, even tho its simple fact.

And 2 more recent ones started by UK Skyline tuners to try and dig at Robbie@RIPS as he blatantly taking a lot of their business by NOT being shit like UK Skyline tuners are.

Does my head in on there, so pathetic at times.

So how do they work? Can you give me a breif overview....no worries if not...Just i'd like to understand how they aid the lauch. Also someone mentioned holding the brake pedal whilst lauching to build more boost...can you explain this a bit more..

Probably not for this thread but i'd really like to understand the physics and method behind this lot...I turely am speechless at that launch

Could possibly start a new thread discussing launch techniques...would be an interesting read IMO

Sorry to go off topic guys

I struggle to understand it all so id be useless at it aside from just direct quoting Mark. He registered on there anyhow.
They dont like me as they know what I think of them (ie clueless self important wankers on the whole).
If Sheady posted tho theyd shut the fuck up and start sucking him right off though.

Transbrakes simply select 1st and reverse at the same time at a certain set rpm.
Then when engaged you nail the throttle, the car loads up massivley, giving you full boost at a standstill, let go of the transbrake and you fuck off up the road like a nutcase on full boost.
Simple really.
Puts a lot of strain on the transmission, but hey, so does launching a big power manual box.

Would mapping of nos and anti-lag not help with spooling?

Does it run any form of anti lag

Nos will help with any lag as it adds power but this engine wont be as laggy as people think.

Not saying it will be laggy just interested to know if it could benefit from anti-lag?

Antilag only work with a closed throttle situation brining the boost up when you reapply it,
Nos would help spool due to adding power which adds exhaust gas speed which again helps.

carefull chip, you know that nitrous is really just another word for cheating

the thing i can't get my head around is that everyone apart from certain skyline owners can't understand that for engine "X" certain mods will do certian things, and for engine "Y" the same mods will do different things

i'm now going to figure out how to launch without using a bottle and a dignitary

Bitchyness bitchyness.......

I wish you well with the engine ROD, and any more record attempts. Your car has already been quite the inspiration for a project i've got in mind (oh, and of course, its 'secret' )

Best wishes

Steve
