er??? it was advertised in both Fastford and Redline for a few months at least.

In the feature in Redline we stated that the car originally came from a drug dealer and came from a Police compound! hardly hiding the truth!

Over the years all the upgrades and parts were posted on here with pictures etc etc and 99.9% if not 100% were brand new I can't think of anything second hand in fact!!!

OH the head was. Bought with a receipt from the dude off here (simon) had a 3 door with funny cage in it and wore glasses.

Brakes were brand new from Scotty.... (I gave Mike the heads up and he then bought his!)

Suspension new from leda, Brom beam

Engine all new, parts from Mike, secs and Karl.

Wheels all new from compo

Interior cobra and the twins and doug flocked the dash.

SPA and Stack for the gauges.

Proalloy for the the Allloy and cooling parts and tabks

Quaife and Mike fro transmission. Again all new parts... (Mike even uses the photos of diffs and cases on his site!)

Can't understand how any intelligent person would think anything on the car is dodgy?

Quite offended to be honest!

The thing is, that there are enough respected tuners/engine builders on here that we know we can trust....... Karl Norris, Stu, Harvey, Martin Reyland, Mark Shead, etc etc (Sorry if I've forgotten any of the obvious ones), that we shouldn't even need to consider a company like EA.

I have always heard rumours of a circle of "traders/cossie specialists" in england that were buddy buddy with cars going missing and parts being broken and sold through their unofficial network.

e.g. one gets a car knocked (not hard given their position, can even copy keys), goes into chop shop and others use blocks/heads/parts for other customers needs. They all get to make a good wedge. Shell magically turns into a race/track car if your using all of it.

These rumours were from 10 odd years ago though and now people are trackered up to the hilt etc I think more care would need to be taken so risk not as worth it. The business has also taken off that people do not need to resort to this as some may have actually gotten half decent at tuning.

Over the years I'm sure more and more names have been added to the rumours.

i am sure that those rumours are false and i hope that martin does make that post to clear up his history so that we can see how trivial (and perhaps forgiveable) that it is, and i am also equally sure that lee and renton would have nothing knowingly to do with any criminal activity relating to their car and that the 3 door is entirely legitimate.

i hope that this post is not seen in any way as stirring, just the independant thoughts and experiences of someone in the scene that may go some way to clearing up the past for a better future for martin/reyland and the whole ford scene
Lee's Sierra is on the level, it came from an auction of Police siezed property as the previous keeper had it taken as proceeds of crime.

i'm really sorry that you feel offended lee, maybe i didn't make it clear what i was trying to say

i am saying that although i am more than 99% sure that everything about the car is legitimate, there would be the tiniest bit of doubt cast by things that i have heard over the years about martin, and if that gets cleared up it can only help to banish those doubts from the minds of other people. that < of doubt 1% is not real based on any facts, just rumours and hear say, so i shouldn't even be taking any notice, but you can't help it can you?

i don't read either of those mags, so didn't see it was for sale my main contact with the scene is through here, and although i don't actively look in the cars for sale section, had i known it was for sale at that price i would have been very interested.

You going to post all the stuff you did that was illegal, or just the stuff you got caught for?

Cause if we all have to post everything we have ever done thats illegal, Im not sure the server can take it.

Mind you Ive noticed anyone who gets caught for anything, its always a first offence, the police must be awesome if everyone gets caught first time im amazed there is any crime at all

Yeah I know that, it wasn't even you that was showing as banned, or that you were Ian @ racetek I was reading old threads..

You didn't used to deal with GSF/Andyspares did you? I am sure it was Racetek that gave Jason our cossie boost gauge FOC about 5/6 years ago

No worries. Totally understand.

And some of the people spreading the bull and shit about Martin are well respected members of the RS community so I can probably understand how it would be easy to get suspsicious...

But the fact, Super Mike Rainbum leaves him the keys to 'Pegasus' should remove any doubt in anyones mind!

Noone is more squeaky clean or anal than Gaybird! Mike wouldn't even steal a Pen from work!

I have used EA on occassions in the past, never got stiffed or felt hard done by in anyway.I had an anti lag setup off him (diy style fitted though),no probs in time for machining of my TB and i thought a good price, but maybe i get discount!

I heard about Raceteks situation and was flabbergasted that they could make such "non tuner/diy in garage style" mistakes!

As for Reyland never had any drama with parts from him either, and know service and advice is top notch, regardless of his past.

I have a feeling i know what his crimes where and cannot hold back,he/she was once married to John Collins,Paula and John, until they both deceided to become the opposite sex,the relationship was full of envy of each others parts, could never work.

Doh. Can't you exagerate just a wee bit? Then maybe we could sell it as a film script.

In all honesty, the rumour i had heard was that you had been banged up with Steve Scott for a while for some dodgy dealings.

When i told the next person i made sure there were Uzis involved as well and they probably added the MI5 involvement.

I would keep it as a secret and keep people guessing. I always thought it made you sound very cool.

My mates old saff that got "mapped" there made 369.8 BHP on dark greens, T34.63 went well but was on a ported head and twin BD14's, as it was built for greys but my mate decided to stay on greens for a bit.

When I had it off him, I realized just how bad the set-up was. Used to do 20-30 miles to £10 of Optimax ( remember this is 2003 so it was about 80p a litre!). It was over-fuelling so much, that on the over-run it used to shoot a 5ft flame bunson burner orange EVERY time you backed off, and stay there until the engine went to idle!!! When you nailed it through the gears it used to pop a fucking HUGE flame EVERY gear change as well ... Used to think it was ace, but you grow up as you get older and realize that cool as big flames are, when you get people pulling up at every set of lights telling you your car is on fire that perhaps it might not be the optimum set-up you could have

Wastegate installation on Ian's Escort was a joke, how anyone who knows even the smallest thing about turbos and engines could think it would work must be on crack!!!
