I dont think that's going to happen. Unless I take him to court. But as he says, his business is doing well so maybe now he can afford it!!

We it proves that we can all get fooled at the best of times. I genuinely believed that he knew what he was doing at the time. A simple mistake that I will never make again.

After Harvey fixed EA's catastrophic mistakes (err.....a new engine) I was still nervous to nail it for the first time, and Harvey got shirt with me and told me to go up the road and "rag the shit out of it" or he would do it for me! Lol. So I did...........and then I realised what a proper experienced tuner was and how that car should have gone from the start!

An amazing feeling when you put your foot down and it didnt go bang. I had missed that previously! Lol!!

Good question Milke. I was introduced to him by a guy who built my engines then - around 2001. I was given all the spiel about him being Mountunes dyno mapper who did all the works WRC cars etc. He mapped my car on a T6 in 2001 and it did seem to go ok, but then with the spec of the engine it wasnt ever going to be slow and the map was probably something he skanked of someone else like Ahmed anyway.

In 2003 he offered to rebuild my engine on the grounds that it had a bit of a rattle, which I now realise was just that it had Accralite Forged Pistons and really there was nothing wrong with it and it would have gone on for years!! From that point it really is a horror story........much longer than Martins essay from last night!!

It was me that put Lewis onto Paul Hills, as I did a lot of people, many from here! I guess we all got sucked it by the hype and bullshit!! Sorry chaps. Genuinely. Lol.

ps.....are you sure that Escort covered in stickers that kept going wrong wasnt mine??

I never actually had one as always paid him in cash!! But I have got an itemised extras bill that he emailed me after the original engine was built in 2003!

It was an extras bill because it involved fitting a Stack Dash (supplied by me), and the extra "work" to fit and map the engine with the Mountune Throttle system and EGR. All these parts were supplied by me.

The original idea was for him to just supply and fit a new bottom end...using a new block, steel rods and JE pistons, using my crank, head cams and everything else - The agreed price was 5 grand! When I think about it, this was rather dear cos in 2003, blocks were only £500. Id say he was making about £3000 from the labour. When I added the extra bits and pieces I knew that I would have to pay some extra over the original bottom end job, and at one point I had an email off him saying that this extras bill was £2k then went up to £3k. It was only when I picked the car up, that he gave me a £6,300 extras bill! On top of the agreed £5000, plus £3,300 for the inlet, and more (£2000) for the EGR etc.

The extras bill was shocking, it included £140 for fuel used in mapping! Even though the car had half a tank of fuel and the original £5k price should have allowed for mapping and fuel!! Pls £30 for jubilee clips.....surely this was included in the original £5000 price? I think he just used me to bankroll his company and keep him going for a few months!

Stu has seen this bill as I showed him years ago so will vouch that I'm not lying!! Other people have seen it too.

The car never ran right, and would flood from cold and splutter etc.

But the real hassle came a year later when he fitted a GT35 for me, I supplied the turbo and wastegate but he still charged me £1800 to fit it and used 15mm diameter copper plumbing pipe to mount the wastegate...it was too thin and ran too much boost! Blew it to smithereens....I think he fucked the head many times before I had it back and destroyed it myself!! It even did the headgasket on a test drive....which he charged me £600 for!

I think I spent £23,000 on that car in 2003!! And if you allow 2004 as well, probably £26000 in 14 months with EA (less the parts I supplied).....then if you add the £10,000 Harvey charged me after the EA engine went bang, so £36,000 was spent in 18 months! But what Harvey did for me was really special! A very good engine (still perfect in the car now 3 years on!) and was from scratch, because the only thing that was left for Harvey to reuse was the cam cover and sump plug!!! Everything else was obliterated!! Oh and Harveys bill included a fuel system with three fuel pumps, and a swirl pot!! EA sent me away with a near on 600bhp spec car running 8 light blues......with only 1 single Bosch 023 fuel pump in the standard tank!! I could go on but my keyboard will fall apart!!

The bit that I find strange is that you admit all of the above and then that 18 months later, you STILL went back for more arse raping - .

Well that would make two of us that like being raped in the arse then?

No, the truth and reason is that, I didnt really know any other of the top tuners at the time and it was only for that reason that I kept going back to him, plus it was his word that he would sort the running and cold start problems that made me take it back! When the turbo was being fitted he said he would sort out other probs at the same time. But it wouldnt run when cold, or warm or hot, because the ends of the conrods came off and the engine turned into a giant cullender!!

I do acknowledge that you did try to get me to go to Harvey many years ago! But I would have similarly gone to Martin or Sheady had I known them better in order to give them such a large amount of money!! I acknowledge that Harvey/Martin/Sheady would have done me a great engine for much less than EA charged me for. If only Id known then what I do now!!

Plus the difference with Harvey was that I always tried to ask him if he wanted some money along the way and he kept saying "Nope, give it me at the end!!". Where as EA had money off me up front and during the job!!

Love you too!! Lol!

think the main difference is with the net its fasr eaier to see hownamy people can vouch for someone.

I rememer back in 90's when if you wanted anything done it was either Ripspeed or PRISM motorsport

Now with the all the infor on the net peple are have so much more information to make a decision about who will tune theri cars.

When Harvey and Ahmed did my mapping, on the same ECU, throttle body and injectors, you could drive the car away from cold like it was a 1.1 Fiesta...it was that smooth!!

Thanks. I was very niave and thought everybody was as honest as me!

and to be honest, I had met Lewis a few times and he seemed sound!

he was on here all the time and was a moderator so you kinda do feel like you totally know someone....

Back then I was ridiculously bad with money I mean REALLY REALLY bad.... I couldn't tell you my current account balance to the nearest £10k at the time... I was a COCK!

A little blonde thing has really sorted my life for the better though and I am SOOOO much better with money....

Still have lots of money outstanding out there, but I got alot back and it won't ever happen again.

Lesson learnt

Good things do happen back though! Chip pm'd me the other day and offered to lend me a stage 3 chip, t34 injectors and basically spanner and fit it all and get my Westie up to 330-350bhp for the grand total of £0.00

he also said he would NOS the fooker as well!!!

TOP MAN CHIP!!!!
Must admit myself to being fairly stupid with money in the past, not lending it out to people just be frivilous with it, and funny enough my future wife, also a little blond thing sorted me out, and now l am relativly better with money,

glad your happy

Actually its better than a stage 3 chip and its greys you will be putting in the westfield chip is good enough to fuel the engine at 2.5 bar peak and a held 2 bar if you so desire. Down side is the chip is for 7.6:1 c/r so if you engine is standard comp there will be too much ignition. May need to se the octane wires

Quick Reply: Can you guess which tuner did this???
