Symbian Signed seems to be working again so if, like me, you've downloaded the unsigned version and been unable to use it, get yourself on to https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/pa...ignedOnline.do

It completed the task and sent me the link to the signed version in about two minutes, and another 30 seconds later I had it Bluetoothed into the phone and working.

I know it's only a toy, but so what it's a NEW toy!!!

I have the original N95 v1 with the lastest V21.0.16 firmware and Auto Rotate isn't there.

The Rotate me application is freeware and Symbian don't charge for the signing, but had suspended public access for some reason.

It's working again now, but may not be tomorrow...

hated the rotateme app when i had my n95, used to autorotate to landscape when i had tomtom running and crashed it!

i keep tryng to install rotateme but keep getting a certificate error on the phone when it trys to install it.what am i doing wrong?

The application needs to be signed by Symbian before it will install.

Go to the website I showed above and enter your IMEA Number, email address (I don't tink it accepts Hotmail, Yahoo etc type email addresses) and upload the unsigned application from your computer.

I don't know which of the tick boxes it actually needs so i ticked them all!, and they will email you a link to download a signed version that you can install in your phone.

I have the 8gb.. how do I do the update and where from please. Bit of a thick c*nt when it comes to this sort of thing.

I think the 8GB has it as standard. Have a look in the Settings\General\Personalisation\Display menu and see if the option is there. If not, I'm told it is in the latest firmware update from nokia.co.uk.

Be sure to do the back-up of your phone first before you update your software because the new software wipes everything clean.

Iain, did you get some sort of indication that your request had been sent, or just receive an email after a couple of minutes?

i filled in the form and clicked send an hour ago, but have not recieved anything, and did not get any kind of message to say that my submission had been sucessful. might try again and tick all boxes

EDIT: DOH! relialised i clicked on the .zip file for the app instead of the .sis

2ND EDIT: can't get it to submit, get the the error message "FAILURE: Submitted .sis file uses a UID that is not allocated to the account holder matching this email address (0x200087b5 )

cunting thing isn't it? don't understand why it won't work somebody else cannot send you their signed version as it is specific to that phone. maybe someone who has been successful in getting one signed would be kind enough to get ours signed if we pm'd our phone code?

If you had removed the sim and put it away in a drawer it might have been ok!!! Of course, the phone might not have loaded the new software then, but your numbers would be safe!

As soon as I had clicked to send it, I got an acknowledgement screen saying it had been successful and I'd receive an email with a link.

I had that while Symbian Signed wasn't working. Are you maybe trying to upload a copy that has been signed already with someone else's IMEA?

Sorry I don't know enough about this Symbian stuff to be more helpful but if you pm your code I'll give it a try and see if it works here.

SUCCESS:

Your .sis file was uplaoded successfully.
A confirmation email will be sent to you which contains a web link. You need to open the web link to complete the confirmation.
Following this confirmation your file will be processed and a download link will be sent in an email to the address you provided.





Seems to have worked ok.
You should get an email in a few miutes, then use Nokia Installer to move it to your phone and you are good to go.
