As soon as I had clicked to send it, I got an acknowledgement screen saying it had been successful and I'd receive an email with a link.

I had that while Symbian Signed wasn't working. Are you maybe trying to upload a copy that has been signed already with someone else's IMEA?
Sorry I don't know enough about this Symbian stuff to be more helpful but if you pm your code I'll give it a try and see if it works here.
