Default Cossie 5 year itch.................

Think I might be getting bored of the cossie. I Dont really have much time to use it and not even sure I am that fussed with shows etc much prefer the drive TO and FROM shows.

Only chance I get to use it is at the weekend and recent summers mean that even then it might not get used. I keep wondering about getting rid of the run around and Cossie (bearing in mind that I dont even use a car for work or anything so hardly use the run around either!) and getting something like an E46 M3 that I can use without worrying where its left using in the rain etc. Just slap a set of rims on and have done with it.

Am I going mental or talking sense?!

It's an expensive weekend car mate to have but would you be happy with an M3. Would that give you the enjoyment & buzz the shonky Ford gives you.

Personally id lock the 3dr away & forget about it.

keeping thinking the same thing andy and now the engine needs to be rebuilt its tempting not to chuck the towel in..

but think a modern car would be a little dull after the cossie, nice old school 911 is now my thinking..

Yeah i understand MOST people with an RS go through this. BUT I am honestly not looking at anything to REPLACE the cossie as I doubt any car could ever do that in my eyes (946 turbo or a 993 turbo maybe). It would purely be the fact that I never use the car and am thinking about getting out of the scene and then getting something more useable that would mean not having 2 insurance preimums/ 2 road tax's etc etc

Like I said I would be able to use it for "normal" stuff aswell.

Maybe i just need to do some M3 spanking

Any more pics of it?

On a side-note, I'd happily swap it for my 306 XLDT, you certainly wouldnt get wound up with leaving that anywhere.

PM me if you like

There you go then! I was expecting as much really Andy Sounds like you had an awesome trip with it!

You won't go spanking many 'supercars' with a standard rimmed up M3 will you!

Yours is one of the nicest 3drs out there imo, BUT only you can decide fella, it's pointless putting a post of this kind on here tbh, everyone will say keep her and then you're in even more of a head fuck........

Bit like my GT30 post.. only i can decide...... real tears........

call me first if you do decide to sell it - i offered Ł5k for it on a post a while ago when you were having troubles with it, but that was obviously jokingly low.

I get like that with my Pulsar. Usually if I take it off the road and forget about it for a while the enthusiasm comes back.

Just use your car and don't worry about the rain !!! That's what I do

Seeing that yours is a very good example, sell it and get another that you can drive around in without feeling you're loosing pounds per mile.
You'll need to loose your bufty urges though, and that could well be the most difficult bit

If you need better comfort, air-con, handling, etc... buy a more modern car, but get one with a big turbo, you'll miss the boost

Thats just it I think. I think it would be wrong just using it normally and leaving it out etc. Its only done 1300 miles between MOT's last year beacuse of that!

Its not comfort that I want either as my run around has air con cruise full electrics etc etc. Its just putting the cash into something that I would use more I *THINK* So it would be no good having car to replace the cossie i.e a garage ornament (the cossie IS the only car i'd want for that)

I think its more a case of having the best part of ŁŁk tied up in something that is more useable!?

Anyone else thought this and regretted it ?

i sold my subaru earlier in the year as i wasn't going to be using it much, but i regret it as it was a good one and was not really costing me anything to have it just sitting there. now i have nothing for a trackday or road trip.

if you are happy with your run around and don't want more from an everyday car, and are not bothered about the cash tied up in the RS (which will not lose value in the foreseeable future), then keep it. but just use it more and get some enjoyment out of it as greg says

for example, bring it to the basingstoke meet tonight

I had my 3dr for 4yrs but wasn't using it much so sold it march 07,bought another Cossie within a month but soon after wishing i hadn't bought another, sold that sept 07. I've had Cossie's since 1996. Bought an old 1998 M3 evo as a second car to replace the Cossie, its not the same as having a 3dr but when needed i can use it in all weathers & its a lot more comfortable & quieter than a Cossie. I drove down to Le Mans in it aswell.

Cheers Simon.

Maybe i am just being a big Fanny............I definately wont be rushing anything. Might be a case of drive it more clean it less though lol
