Well after a very very long trip for about 1650 kilometers in one day i got back and all i can say is amazing.

She runs so smooth with very good power delivery and good drivability it's just amazing.

Even on a 5 hour cruise with a average of 150km/h never mist a beat,so so sweet just spot on.

Only thing i noticed is that the fans where one very long on the trip.

But have a uprated one to fit from stu and can recomment 1 to all cosworth owners.

So big thanks to the MSD team.

Do you know if it has the MSD fan switch as this should combat the heat sink from the alloy rad.

this should solve it mate as it always stays on for longer after you fit a alloy rad.

Glad you made it back safe Johan - was a pleasure to meet you and John and to work on your car!

How did you find it on fuel on the way back?

Hi Will,

Yes it does seems alot better on fuel but haven't calculated the right figure to the fuel consumption.

I used approx. 1,5 tanks of fuel to got home so not bad for 820 kilometers

This is definitely better then before

It sure does, I went out in it with Stu when he was doing some final checks on it on friday, that has to be the nicest 4wd saph ive EVER been in, utterly amazing example, I really was surprised how nicely put together it felt and how well it drives.

As Stu said, its a credit to you sir!

Just feels like a new car mate, it really is pretty much perfect, although I did find the 5th gear whine a bit intrusive, its a shame its not a helical 4th AND 5th cog from the point of view of long journeys in it.

That said though, it was a little unstable during braking, probably just a bush or geometry setting or something else simple, but im sure you are aware of this and it doesnt detract from what a great example it is.

But in terms of ride quality, no knocks, no rattles, no bumps, just all felt new.

In fact the first thing I said to stu was "is it 1989 again already?" just felt like being a in a time warp

If you go past the 140 km/h the 5th isn't that intrusive anymore.

Especially with the radio turned up a bit

As for the unstability i do find it a bit unstable on the back end even on long bends i think it's the geometry of the rear beam.

But not to worry a 6ş beam is the next thing on the list

Cheers,
Johan.

Hi Johan,
Sorry i wasnt here to meet you mate but i had a sparring course in Wakefield that i couldnt cancel as my Daughter really enjoys them. However, for my sins i spent the weekend with light concussion after taking a great blow to the head delivered via a great roundhouse kick from a nurse with long blonde hair called Becky. Not sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing, but im funny like that.

Glad you enjoyed the drive home mate. Seems your getting 350miles per tank too, not bad considering the specification with those 83lb Siemens and a T38, and im sure you probably spent a fair bit of excess fuel enjoying the new power too eh? LOL

That fan switch will sort the fan problem, no doubt in my mind.

Thanks for the business mate, look forward to seeing you next time.

I sure did pal,
Even managed to get the needle past the 260km/h a few times

Fitted the fan switch today and solved the fan problem as expected

Cheers,
Johan.
