Default idle speed control valve problems

can anyone help got 2wd cossy when i start my car in morning with iscv on it revs to 3000 revs bought new one and it still revs to 3000 any ideas

tps faulty or mis adjusted.

air leak? does it do it with the iscv unplugged?

tps is most likley then, if the ecu spots a open throttle it opens the iscv.

check wiring,and base setting

Had a escort gti, and we changed the iscv and it made no difference, the TPS did the trick and it never did it again in the 2 years i owned it

yes its fine with the iscv on when warm but if i come to a stop sometimes it it will rev hight but as soon as i unplug the iscv its all good

Or a crappy chip, my EA chip did that anywhere between 1200-1500rpm when warm, now with GGR chip back in due to problems wiht EA one it is rock steady at 900rpm.
Mind you the AFR was 10.5 on the EA chip!!

i have got an ea chip but it was doing this before i had the chip fitted someone told me there is a relay that causes this aswell anyone else heard this or know where the relay is

A common problem or so it seems!

When mine did this it was a dead ISCV, replaced it twice, once with a supposed brand new ISCV and I still had idle problems, replaced it with a second hand item and it's pretty sweet and well behaved now!

Where did you get your brand new ISCV from as they are no longer made I don't know of anyone who stocks them anymore!?

burtons about year ago they dont do them now but they still do the escort cossy do you know if they are the same iv tryed about 4 iscv and still the same
