OK..........504 BHP is amazing for that MD240R turbo, going by what I have experianced and what the manafacturer actually claims........so thats good
Getting back to your topic, the air charge temps that really matter are those shown while the engine in ON BOOST....So if you are seeing temps displayed that seem a bit high (say on the SECS monitor) than chances are that they are "heat soak" figures....i.e. the reading is not accurate from the moment you lift and the boost drops....from then on the ACT probe is influenced by the surrounding heat, and these readings can be ignored.
With a good inter-cooler like you AH 500, you should be seeing ACT's typically 10 - 12 ° C over ambient while ON BOOST.

those temps are on a pectel moniter, and on a act moniter off mike rainbird thats fitted in the boost before throttle.
both were at 48 oC.
ps i know turbo dynamics have had a few other customers get 500bhp on the same turbo.

Then I would say nothing much to worry about - it was on a Sunday afternoon so ambient trmps of about 24 - 26° C and your ECU would be mapped to deal with ACT's of up to 80° anyway.
On my car (Es Cos with similar spec/power to yours - but on a T4 turbo) I would be getting ACT's of 36 - 38° C with genuine RS500 I/C ......slightly better than yours, but a bigger bonnet area and better throughflow of the air OUT of the bonnet area to help the I/C do it's job.....So all-in-all not much in it at all

If temps were 15°C that Sunday, then with a good(ish) I/C set up you should be getting 25 - 27°C on boost readings IMO
Well, with Es Cossie's you get the ambient reading from the factory fitted outside temp sensor/dash display.......Then the ACT's I read from the SECS monitor - these are the values (temps) that the ECU is receiving -so in other words it's the ECU that gives the readings that it receives from the temp probe in the plenium.

Danny,
The ACT temps you are getting are what I would expect to see. You might improve this with some bumper / bonnet mods / reducing the boost / changing the intercooler (it's is not the best one out of the ones tested by PF mag) or by getting a more efficient turbo.
You could also try packing the bumper out with foam around the intercooler to ensure that all the air is forced through it - this would GREATLY improve things.
