Went out in one yesterday afternoon and it's the first car in about 5 years that has TRULY blown my mind.

Relentless power from the off through every flat shifted gear to its top speed...

All at 0.7bar as well!

For such a huge car it was magnificent through the corners - felt so planted and stable - almost like being in a computer game.

Really really want one now

It truly doesn't need a thing doing to it - they appear to have got it SO right from the factory...

Anyone want to buy a kidney?

Rad - Last car that blew my mind was an R34 GTR - i honestly thought that car's like that out the factory couldn't be bettered.

I was wrong. Very wrong. The new GTR is a WHOLE new level!

There is the option to flash map the ECU to increase the boost to 1.0bar - but after that the clutch system fails...

And bearing in mind the clutch system is the bollocks - i for one wouldn't be keen to get into uprating it.

The car is mind blowing in standard form - i imagine another 0.3bar will just freshen it up once you get used to it.

But i honestly wouldn't do any more than that to it. And bearing in mind i was telling Stu to turbo his M5 the other week - its very very rare i say anything like that!!!

Isn't this the car that doesn't like things doing to it and spits its dummy out at the whiff of a modded part or fiddled ECU?

He's had a family bereavement in the last few days so he's waiting for a funeral date to be set prior to committing.



The ECU has already been hacked for the 1.0bar map as far as i know...

I have driven 2 new GTRs and was amazed at the performance!
Seamless power delivery and so nimble fror a large and heavy car
I was all for personally importing one but warranty/servicing issues eventually put me off. I got a non Sat Nav Premium in red coming in March '09 but its the Spec V that is going to be *THE* GTR to have.
Spec V is going to be at least 100kg lighter and have 50ps more from the latest info I was given
They start shipping in late 2009.
