They have a hufe following and are still seen as one of the best hot hatches ever. A lot of people swap for the 16v so would happily buy yours as they dont need the engine anyway.

Yea a good one is still fetching around the £1000 mark. Unless you get a laser green one with the green carpet as these are apparently getting really rare now.
As said they have a cult following and you will never struggle to shift one

wouldnt bother putting a tired old Mi16 in it TBH mate. thay are the ones that give troubles lol ![Sad](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
if its smoking, its most likely the stem seals, the 1900s suffer with.
(strange though, as its the same cylinder head as the 1600 lol. must be something to do with timing and 95 ron fuel?)

i heard these can be done without taking the head of aswell, got told by a pug tech that you cant compress the cylinder through the spark plug hole which stops the valves dropping inside??

One of my mates has a bug for them bad, He has so many of them and always doing something. There is such a market out there for them. Still quite a few engines about too so no problem for someone who has an engine or wants to get one for a cool little project.

how good is the shell? Has it had any mods done? I can always ask him for you if you'd like and see what he reckons. He's in the process of building a couple 2.0 turbo conversions and restoring his rallye at the moment. Another mate has a 205 rallye for sale with a 106 1.3 rallye engine on twin 40's atm
