dont go getting injectors just yet lol 90% of them just need re programming. but you have to do them all codes are on sticker on cam cover. can scanners do injectors? most garages have them now.

Excellent

i did read that the injectors are prone to requiring a recode

one thing after another its used as a taxi i had last weekend off coz the clutch went , (Ł650) and this weekend because its running like a bag or spanners

time to get the matches out i think

white smoke and missfire? sounds like headgasket, are you loosing coolant or oil? starting probs could be water in the bores, careful you dont hydraulic lock it

obv a fueling issue so as above is were id start, unburnt diesel is white smoke, but yes the other above about a steamy smoke can be headgasket.

yes not a good idea to drive it too far. never had a headgasket on one of these tbh. if you come down to lytham il try injectors for you no problem but it means driving it obviously . . . probably do 1-2 a wk that just need programming and as i said rarely need new ones.

ive read on the mondeo owners club that some of the higer spec readers can programme injectors - They drew a blank at which one would work on my car tho

its smkoe rather than steam , and it smells diesely if you know what i mean

ill get the codes read and work from there - hopefully its just injector programming

lardypants - get your money out and get an auto diagnose prices are realistic and are awsome . have 2 of these and do pretty much all jap/korean stuff now too and even porsche and more exotic etc which saves updateing the other machine now too.

a friend of mine had exactly what you describe in his 130tdci
as already mentioned the injectors needed re-calibrating but a faulty 'cam position sensor' or 'crank position sensor' can cause the same problem due to the engine not knowing where it is in its cycle

yes cam sensors the next thing but normally they start to run rough then not run at all very quickly ie the sensor goes completely fucked quickly and it wont just run of the crank sensor
