I was looking at Roger Clarke's website regarding the build of their Scooby. That is SERIOUSLY awesome. Heard rumours of how much it cost to build too.

Do a search for Redkop, she posted a link yesterday to every single aspect of the event including sector times, qualifying, speed trap times and every aspect you could imagine - made very interesting reading

You need to remember that whilst the cars in the Pro class are all fairly awesome, many are driven by professional race-drivers. Neither Gary nor Simon Norris (as far as I am aware) fit this bill.

The finals results tell you fuck all as it was raining and snowing by then. If you took the lap times in the finals by face value a lot of people here would prob be going "oh i can lap donno faster"
Check out qualifying times, totally different story, a mentally fast different story in Pro

Have you got a link to his site please mate
Ahh, that one! I had in my mind the light blue scooby for some reason....
Looks lovely though
Whats amazing is the times the Autosportif/Tein Impreza did. 1min 12.
Kev shouldve done Pro this year IMO, he won Club last year, should be time to move up a level as even last year he was doing Pro class times.

Awesome times. Well done Kev.
So if I was him, id be happy where I am TBH
(genuine question, I dont know all the rules, I just see a car that hasnt even got perspex windows yet etc and it seems very much like a club car to me, a GREAT club car, but NOT a pro car)
You cant compare a TOP Pro class car to the rest of Pro, just because Kev has glass and pays his own way means bugger all, so do plenty of Pro.
Not as if having glass or not changes costs anyhow, just makes summat seem a bit more racey.
There needs to be firmer rules of whats club n whats not, as some pro cars look more club, and the other way round.
IMO if youve won Club you should be automatically put in Pro.

Im not sure thats fair TBH, to be at the front of the pro class you are looking at a 200-300K car or so I guess?
To be at the front of club class, its probably possible for about 50-75K
Thats a MASSIVE gulf when the series almost certainly offer the opportunity to provide you with 200K of sponsorship.
I dont see why a car that has been built to win in one class should be put in another class where it stands NO chance of winning, up against cars built to a different set of criteria and costs etc
To me thats like pushing someone from F3000 into F1, irrelevant of if they can afford it or not, obviously the opportunity should be given for the club class winner to go into Pro if they want to do so, but I dont think they should be FORCED into Pro.
Roger Clark car stood at approx 100k last year starting from a totally bare shell, and they were by far the most mega overall spec one.
Zen won it last year and deffo spent far less.
Either way, they should change the rules. Kev would be about 10th in Pro going by his current times, not exactly shit is it.
To me its like a footy team staying in the crappy division they in just because they know they will win, rather than getting promoted and having a real fight for once.
Deffo agree with the F3000 vs F1 thing tho, esp in the respect that nobody really gives a toss about F3000.

Football teams stand to make huge profits as a result in a change in division. Kev wouldnt, it would just put it beyond what he can afford I suspect.
The PRO class, as far as im aware is so called because its for "Professionals" in the industry, which Kev isnt, not even slightly, he's just a plumber with a fast car that he likes to do trackdays in AFAIK, so he isnt a professional tuner, so he shouldnt be forced to go in the professional tuners class just cause he is a bastard good ameteur.
I disagree on the "no one cares" bit too, I know more people who are interested in the Am class TBH, including myself, as thats what we aspire to maybe do ourselves one day, the Pro class is beyond any budget I will ever have.
