I think Stu had a similar problem - fixed with a router reboot.

Power off your modem/router, leave for about 30 seconds and power it back up.

What url do you use to open PassionFord?

If you use https://passionford.com try opening it up instead with https://passionford.com/forum/index.php

Waiting for it to justify left is a pain sometimes too, start reading the thread then it all starts shifting left.

Anyone followed the sticky in the problems forum ??

Im just off to do it now.

In Windows, do the following:

Start -> Run -> cmd

This will open a DOS box. Type the following:
tracert passionford.com

You'll get some results that look like this:

Code:
14 149 ms 149 ms 149 ms 83.231.148.2015 144 ms 145 ms 143 ms ge-9-2.the.uk.euroconnex.net [217.112.81.2]16 145 ms 144 ms 145 ms 217.112.82.2117 146 ms 140 ms 154 ms passionford.com [92.48.66.100]
Right click the window, then choose Select All (it will turn white), then press Enter. This will copy the text to your clipboard.

Once you have this, post your results in this thread and we'll see what's going on.

If you are on MacOS or Linux, you can use the traceroute command - it will do the same thing
Maybe if we all did it we may get somewhere

Unsure what you mean by that Paul, the only recomended way to get to passionford.com is to use www.passionford.com

I will bring the performnace vote BTTT and see what we can determine from it. I think some ISP's are still not routing to the new server for some wierd reason.

can get on no probs,go through a few pages then it will just seem to freeze for a while then go to cannot display page........
if i log out and come back in its ok for a bit.....doesnt always do it though so i just go on ebay for a bit when it does then come back to it.

orange were being an arse baout rerouting the things that you are on about stu, but only in certain areas so i'm not sure what the problem was there

the other problem could be to do with the new computer having vista on it

on some days it won;t allow me to open more than a certain amount of windows not matter what, so then i've got to reboot and everything works fine again

What i cant get my head round is why it always was and always is just PF,,

seems strange that no matter what the powers that be try it only seems to work for so long , and its not as tho this website has more traffic that places like ebay etc that are perfect .

Lets see how it goes as they may sort it

I cant understand it either from your end Paul as its located in UK now on 2 excptional servers and is, without doubt, the fastest forum i use now and it NEVER, EVER has problems.

speed is not the issue, random page crashing is for me.

and it happens now nearly every time I come on PF. And if I have other tabs open in my browser I have to close the lot to get back into PF and still sometimes it dont work.

I upgraded from IE6 to IE7 and to downgrade was a simple matter of binning the IE7 which left the original IE6. If you have IE7 from the off then maybe you have another issue but what you described sounds the same..

My old Laptop was fucked and had viruses ect and the other day i thought enough is enough so i bit the bullet and went and got a new laptop

the new laptop has Vista instead of XP and sucks IMO but anyway it is fast "when not on passion ford"

the problems started before i changed PC so it cant be that

im pretty sure that this new PC is IE7 but i will check

Seems to be more and more people moaning when you look at other topics about the performance of the site!
