Linsays car did have a special TOTD power reducing alternator fitted before her run too dont forget, that would explain the difference in power between us and the noble dyno.

and if your saying with the t34 it made 320 @ the wheels at ava...
381 @ nobles at fly....same spec....
it makes 380 @ wheels at TOTD.....
So 60bhp.....
Not a chance....
Like I said - pinch of salt....same day, same rollers....

Testing the future
good thread, especially with the great technical input of karl and alex who like me have been properly involved as engineers in rolling roads and climatic wind tunnels and understand these things properly
shame i didn't get time to pop in got up late, had to go to northampton (so drove right past uxbridge), but had to be back in time to go out and see frank skinner live

I think someone should open up a climatic wind tunnel tuning company, that way we could all map properly under all temperatures and conditions!, and we wouldnt have to break the speed limit and risk life and limb with on the road mapping and avoid "not mapping properly" on a chassis dyno

Never a truer word spoken than that in Chris' signature.
Dingy, since you always say that the track is where it's at. Do you think you could lap, say, Donno faster than Gary? Genuinely curious.
Also, I am intrigued by the references to OE mapping conditions and what makes me laugh the most about that is wondering why, if OE mapping is so perfect, is there such an abundant business in remapping from the likes of Stu (MSD), Superchips, Dreamscience etc etc. I think comparing OE mapping conditions to those used in the aftermarket is really splitting hairs. Luckily very few of us are looking to do top speed runs in the sahara desert or 1/4 mile runs in -50° conditions on 2 foot of ice.
I think the type of mapping we all do is perfectly adequate for what we want. Whether the belief is in Road or Dyno mapping. It just so happens that on this occassion at least 2 cars that were exclusively dyno mapped did the numbers and 3 cars that werent, didn't. Sorry, tried so hard to keep that to myself, but I thought that if I was thinking it, I might aswell say it.

We all know OE manufacturers keep the power of the car at a level to keep the car reliable for the customer so that it lasts 10years for example - also helps warranty claims! LOL!

To be perfectly honest christian, since having the car at the current spec i am actually slower round dono than I was with the t34 cause its harder to drive it faster on track. Not sure you will understand that to be honest, its actually slowing it down that is the problem and being able to turn in as the mk2 is very nervous under braking
And your comparing a 30year car with 30 year old technology to an evo with all modern bits on it so its not really a fair comparision but am always up for a laugh LOL.....make sure its wet so i get wasted LOL
Not had any times measured recently either but going to brunters soon so maybe its possible.

yes lets hope so mate, we had some guys from mclaren down a few weeks back and they compared the results of the LS7 engined 540 bhp 2 wheel drive ultima bodied car I mapped favorably with their engine dyno results, I also remapped a corvette Z06 3 weeks ago that did 560 and 550lbs/ft, spot on power expectation with the exhaust and intake mods we fitted, if I thought our dyno was wrong i would ring Dyno Dynamics, its still under warranty!

My car is hopefully an all rounder but its 30 years old pal and wasn't designed for the power....so we are working on the brakes and different setups with this power to make best use of it. But at the moment its not brilliant....
Croft was ok but dave will tell you he was pulling me on the braking in his escort a piece of piss...
SO there is work to be done...
As for dyno days - its bollox pal cause you can't drive a graph and top speed is ok if you can't drive

I'm never going to try and be a hero in the rain as my car is not set up for it and to be honest is a liability in the wet, my Rover would be much faster!
