...Getting from Saffron Walden, Essex to a place called Darwen, near Blackpool, BUT WITHOUT A CAR???

I`m thinking a train, but don`t have a clue when it comes to train journeys

How many times would i have to change and is this the cheapest option??

Many thanks, Ed.

Buy a shitter for Ł50 and drive it, cheaper than the train and you can weigh it in when you get there

Train to Manchester Picadilly, change there for a train to Salford Crescent (any train off playform 14 at Picc that goes to Blackpool, Windamere, Barrow or Lancastor), change at Salford Crescent for the Clitheore train (leaves Man Vic on the hour, every hour) and that takes you direct to Darwen

Travelling from newport (the nearest major station I found) is the following prices for the cheapest Saver Return fares. Saver Single fares are a quid cheaper than the return

Via Ely - Ł58.20

Via NOT London - Ł63.00

Via Chesterfield - Ł72.40

Via Any Permitted Route - Ł87.90

They are the cheapest "walk on" fares - but may of gone up by about a tenner or so due to me having last years fare software and not getting an update for it
