Did you try the friction plate on the input shaft before you fitted it ?

Hopefully you will have it fixed soon.

Its just typical when you don't this happens

Had the same thing with a GTR clutch a month or so ago, not exactly the smallest gearbox to try and move about

See you at the r/r day

Right, after a good old fucking fight the gearbox is now off.

Broken bits? clutch release bearing, clutch plate is slightly off centre, but the only thing that is broken in the bearing.

Quite glad really, and glad it wasn't anything serious.

Anyway, while it's off we're putting in an RST VC diff, beefed up by Bara

While the box is out i would double check you have the friction plate in the correct way round as per the markings on the plate.

Dan - just a tip... If there's any build up rust/shit on the input shaft - i used to put a mix of fine grinding paste and copper grease on after cleaning it with a wire brush so that the friction plate will constantly keep itself moving

Give me a shout if you need a hand - i've got a quiet week on this week

Will do mate Good thing is, engine is now out, so gearbox can be properly fitted, and i'll have loads of space to do it! and can just lift it back in.

Can't wait you know, kinda miss the noise it makes
