well the car simply perform's like it had an increase in power....

Here is the compared graph from last time it ran at nobles to...
![](http://www.derbyshire-rsoc.co.uk/images/rrday_sep_07/dingycompared.jpg)
And the at the wheels figure - this is not to be compared to the likes of AVA. You would probably see 480-500bhp at the wheels on AVA's rollers![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Big thanks to the derbyshire rsoc for the day![Wink](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
And MASSIVE thanks to the NMS lot for giving me that little extra power so i can hammer nutter at brunters

Jesus christ, at 4700rpm you have lost over 150lbft of torque now when compared with the results from the previous setup!
And its slower ALL the way up to 6300rpm before you get any gains at all.
Must feel far less reponsive in "normal" driving (ie anything under 6K rpm when you first accelerate) now than before?
Awesome BHP figure though

Only thing that has has changed is the head work, same cam timing etc...
And AVA's rollers are very different to the sun setup of nobles...
I understand it to be larger rollers less losses.

Dingy : That's very impressive, and a sensible torque curve for your car (2wd).......As you correctly say, with a torque spike, it would only lead to spinning your rear wheels, and make the car less drivable in the " Real World ". With a nice linear torque curve, you have a much more driveable car.
It's not all about what's on the graph.......it's on the road where it counts. Looking forward to a ride in it one day.

Would be awesome to get that onto some decent boost management so that in the higher gears you could have the spike back then once you have the grip for it if its still capable of making the big boost figures lower down now on the new head etc, or even getting close to them for that matter, rather than (im assuming) relying on an old level 8 which has no concept of what gear you are in.
Its specs like this (huge power in rwd chassis with limited grip) that really show up the shortfalls in what you can achieve in the real world on such basic management.
Does it feel a lot slower now in normal driving in the higher gears with the drop in midrange torque from not having the boost spike anymore to stop it spinning in the lower gears? Or does it tend to live most of its life above 6K rpm where the gains are anyway?
Did Karl comment on why it makes so much less torque now at 6Krpm despite the extra boost, as that seems counter intuitive to what one would expect to happen at those sort of revs on a "bigger" head.

Absolutely, with limited control available on a basic ECU, its absolutely paramount to compromise things in a way that results in useable power, far better to lose out in the gears you arent so interested in if it makes it more driveable in the gears you use more.
Better still though to have boost controlled versus throttle angle, or against gear or similar though of course, as then you can have your cake and eat it so to speak!

Feels much better driving at all area's now, and just comes alive more so at the top end...
I didn't know you could get boost control that altered with gear changes....
And the air injector setup is pretty decent even by todays standard.
I thought that the smaller port's in the head would make it more punchy and have a bigger torque curve anyway....hence why the headwork and capped boost has caused a drop in the figures...
PS - I aint into power figures at all, anyone that knows me would know that, i just thought it was interestsing in the power gains for 4psi and 80bhp

Will be good to see the changes in quarter mile terminals if you end up with some comparison figures for before and after

to be quite frank ur motor would be mental at 300 bhp with u driving lol
Then u go and turn up with 560

haha
quality matey!!!
Pointless comparing the atw power of the two rollers as stated - different setups and different readings on the atw figures as we have seen before.
Think my rst made 195 wheels at ava and 175 at nobels
AVA had estimated the power at around 220- to 230 bhp engine (just a rough estimate) and Nobles actually came up with around 220 to 230 bhp at the engine through its electronic estimation too. From what I was told its to do with the roller sizes and the rpm of the rollers being different at any set wheelspeed.
(for anyone who wanted to know and didnt already!
)
WP Dingy - its just another addition of madness!!

Figs look great mate
562 from a T4 why would you need anything else
wonder what the midrange would be like if the boost was un capped as it look more like a N/A curve the way it is.
Is it capped against wheel spin on rollers or against wheel spin on the road?
Was it ran in 4th dingy?
