Thinking of buying one or the other as a weekend toy and probably use it every other day in the week
Just want some fun with a fast, quick car that i can drive hard.
Whats your thoughts on these two choices?
Pros and cons of both cars? etc..............
Thanks.

i owned a skyline r33 gtr v-spec for a year and a half, bought it after selling my saff.
i bought it because i wanted a fast, reliable good looking car as i've got another project.
basically it was a superb car, totally outstanding in everyway,450 bhp, looked stunning, problem was it was too good,i got bored of it,it went round corners really well but it didnt feel fast because it wasnt a challange!
i like to feel like im driving a car not the other way round!
regreted not buyin an evo

If i was going for lots of power (well, 500bhp+) id go for the GTR if it was a road car, but if not, then Evo.

But I see R33GTRs probably once a week or so, and R33GTSTs about same amount.

Evo, as mentioned Skyline is dull, no challenge to drive one fast imo.
Clearly seen plenty of evo's at the ring last week having more fun than my mate in his 400hp r33 GTR

Back to topic... I would take the Skyline but ideally you would own a petrol station too

Isn't your Skyline a better bet for high speed stuff/big power than your Escort? Or is there something that appeals more about the Escort? Or is the Skyine prohibitively expensive even if you're in the trade?
Not intended as a dig by the way - just interested to hear from someone who's had both

my mates just literaly asked the same question this morning as he wanted a skyline but everyone was offering him gts'
then he asked about the evo
if it was a day to day car i'd go for the skyline, mainly because it's less likely to be stressed when you put loads of power through it, the evo, quick as it undoubtlyly will be, would always give me that niggling feeling that something was about to go pop at the same power levels as the gtr

Good question
i've been asking myself the same thing
dont know why but the skybus seems to win with me.... makes a better noise
and cant help thinking a big power sky would be more reliable.

skyline all the way
such strong engines and fairly easy to tune and be reliable around 400-500bhp
the sound of them is just insane
i see all sorts of skylines everyday as theres a skyline tuners down the road from me and some of them are works of art that come out of there
im sure the black 34gtr from the last gumball is there aswell

I've had both and they are different animals completely.
It really depends what you want and how you drive, what roads etc. They are both great at what they do, the evo is a great flickable, nippy motor and the GTR is a great GT car with loads of stomp.
The GTR does handle too (whoever said it didn't)
There is no winner in 'that' comparrison though.
If you said scooby or evo, then.. evo, but evo and GTR?.. depends what you want.

do skylines eat clutches as much as the evo's do?
I've had 2 Exedy organic's in the Evo in just under 10k miles, upgrading to a twin plate now.
I personally would go for a nice R32 if i was going to buy a skyline, but its not in your options so i'd have to say Evo 6.
The 4g63 evo engine can be tuned very easily and cheaply if you source parts wisely, loads of good deals on stroker kits/steel rods/forged pistons around these days.
Probs the best way to decide would be to go and view both in person and take them both out for a drive, you will more than likely prefer one over the other.
