Default whats the score with car registrations ??

right, ive just sold a nissan micra that has a reg on it i rather like,

the bloke isnt having the car or paying me until the 25th,

can i ask the dvla to take the reg off the car so i can have it ?

do they provide a new reg for the micra ?

how long does it take ? costs etc ?

anyone done this before ?

costs 120 to put on retention...easy done a DVLA local office

how long does it take to complete ?

also for the 120 quid do you get another number plate ?

DVLA will just assign another old plate to the micra.

Not sure on timescale but most things at DVLA take about 2 weeks.

is it a private plate on it already,,, not sure if you can do it with non personal plate,, though i cant see why not

dvla if you go down there takes 2 weeks

also the car has to have a current mot cert and also you may have to take the car to the dvla for inspection as thats what we had to do when the cos plate was removed from my dads saph apparntly a new thing theyve started doing

thats if theres a gap in car tax within 18 months they request a inspection

thats why b19bal was tax for 18months before it got nicked

not in our case it was always taxed

offtopic ginge but did you ever fit that engine i sold you many years ago

So could I get the plate off my Cossie? It came with it on the car but says non transferable on the log book. Would be nice to keep it for future now the car is being broke.

not if it says not tansferable m8 that means someones already had the plate off and thats a dvla suplied replacement

So could the DVLA not do it again and let me keep it?

Im breaking the car so its not gonna need another number, unless I sell the ID off it.
