Default £3500-£4000 to spend..........what should i be looking for?

right . ive sold the S2 . it was just turning into a money pit as usual . spent £2500 on it in 3 months and only drove it for the later 6weeks of those 3 months . car cost me £1400 . so sold it for the usual S2 amount of £2000 . great

right now ive got about £3500 to £4000 to get my self something else but im feed up of buying unrealiable cars . i know its luck of the draw but for once id love to have a bit of luck

i was thinking of a nice golf 1.8t . sticking a set of 18" RS8 wheels on it and job done . being looking for a 3 door with 100k miles and some history for my money . seen some advertised but nothing has reached out and grabbed me .

now ive been looking at imported scoobys .................. is this a good thing ??

insurance on a saff is £610 and on an imported scooby is on £370 ? weird ?

ive read a bit about a scooby and people reckon the imports are the stronger ones , engine wise ?? is this true ior is this cos they own imports

or what else should i be thinking or getting ????

sporty with a bit of grunt init . cant be 2 seater cos ive got 2 kids !!

what would you think of ??

an early e36 m3 can be had for about £4000-£4500.a 286bhp straight six with quality german reliabilty and build quality built in.
for ultimate reliabilty though youve got to take your hat of to the japs.

BMW will feel tacky especially an early E36 - dont bother coz it will look like you can only afford a tired high miler shitter

skyline r32 in drift form? straight 6 engine will sound nuts

my choice would always be a sapphire cosworth - you wont regret it

That does seem like a good buy though, not highly tuned so would prob be quite reliable, i havent had any major issues with my cossies in 8yrs of ownership, just lucky i guess.....

tbh any car you buy could sting you a shit load if it aint been looked after.
and just because its had a rebuild dont think it wont shit itself,my mate bought a scooby p1 that had been rebuilt 2500miles before he bought it off his mate and it popped its engine costing him 8k

the saff is cheap to maintain compared to jap and german but only if its been looked after.
the s14 is a damn good car though or what about an audi s2?pukka built motor, not slow but not ragingly quick.
