Default 4x4 saph boost miss fire problem

advise needed... my 1992 4x4 saph has a slight miss fire when in boost. at around 3500-4000 rpm its hesitates slightly. if you bring the car up to boost gently its happens less. the car is totally standard apart from a 4" scorpion exhaust. Its happens more if the fuel is low(1/4 tank).
so far all ive tried is new plugs. was advised to use 071 plugs gaped at 0.9 to 1.05. these made the car run lumpy so took them out. ive been advised to try new ht leads... Can anyone recommend a brand?
Any other hints/tips welcome

On the engine loom are the 3 plug still left on it on the bulkhead above the cam cover ? if so they might need removing check the one nearest the drivers side for corrosion

havnt had a chance to check the wiring as yet. looking through the cars history there is invoices for work done on a misfire. interference from ignition was what it was identified as but work was done to put it right... there has been a new rotor and dissy fitted by previous owner
