ive goto purchase a timing gun but is it worth spending a fair bit on getting a digital or is it a luxery!

im having probs getting ignition timing right on a car i will only use it every now and again any reccomendation or shall i just get a normal one

i got a draper digital one,,,, much easyer to use a digital one, as most of the time on modded cars we are playing about with timing which isnt standard,

on a digital timing light, all you need a some TDC marks

The more expensive ones will usually display RPM, Advace and Dwell.

They are useful as you can dial in the advance you want then set the timing to the tdc marking on the cambelt cover.

If its just for occasional use and the timing markings are clearly visible then a cheaper/basic timing light would proably do you.

lol typical...a lad at work just sold a new and unused all singing and dancing (the expensive ones do that you know lol) Snap-On timing lamp back to our sanp-on dealer as he'd had it a fair few years in the bottom of his box but never used it (we work at a main dealers so such items aint needed...plus ive already got one the same)...he only got a 3/8 ratchet in exchange for it

when it was on ebay for Ł15 buy it now and in box when its Ł80 in catalogue i was stupid not to get it
