Default Japfest at combe..just back

Saw Porkie and Dangerous REyland go round... think dangerous broke his Diff or something stopped right in front of us.. and things were sounding rattely as he pulled off again

2 cars caught on fire again Right in front of where we were stood.
a blue TOTB scooby which was VERY fast
and a drift car RX7.

seemed to take FOREVER for the fire marshalls to do anything. infact the 2 guys in the RX7 found fire extinguishers and delt with the fire themselves before a marshall had even got there

Norris evo went out (Apparently) on standard gearbox and nothing like the 900 bhp its capeable of, and looked SOO much quicker than anything ive ever seen round there. brutal if i'm honest!!

a good day!

Nope, exhaust didnt arrive in time, plus lots of other little issues that were best not rushed.

Not a bad day really..Nothing great on track till Norris and that mental Blue scooby was on really.. Shame that caught fire tho ...

What was up with Porkies car?? Rattling its tits off most of the time I saw it on track ..Then few laps later was ok???

Infact there was 3 fires lol One in the pits too..
But as Pee Vee says that first fire took ages to get tackled.. Thought the whole car was gonna be up in flames before anyone got there..Took the piss really..

The blue scooby had an under bonnet fire system

but that took ages to work too (but then i guess that do else it'd go off every 5 mins )
dont think the guy realised it was on fire. took ages to get out of it !

Oh did he fair one..

Still a piss take that the fire car had to drive all the way round the track to get to him while he watched it burn..And it looked like no marshals helped tackle it (from where we was stood anyway)

Aren't fire extinguishers compulsory for track days over there to have in the cabin and within reach of the driver?

Shame if they aren't as it is a simple and cheap device that could save thousands

Great day, some awesome cars there

I was in the car with Dangerous when his gearbox went bang - weird experience for me being in a Cossie when the gearbox fails

Highlight of the day for me was the Simon Norris interview over the PA during a break in the track action.

It went something like this:

Interviewer: So Simon, tell us about Norris Motorsport and your plans for this year........

Simon Norris: Um, I dont know their plans as they are Cosworth tuners, I'm Norris Designs!

Interviewer: Ooops OK, but surely the designs side of the business relies on Norris Motorsport to prove & test your design work on track.

Was a eventful day yesterday at Castle Combe to say the least. The Driftworks Drifting demo was awesome i loved everything about it , but it was a shame when the Whifbitz Rx7 caught fire . I caught alot of the action around the track on video camera, i need to find a lead so i can connect it to the pc. There was a few cars skidding off the track. The Zen performance subaru also set fire at the same point as the Rx7 . I saw Porkies skyline and it sounded like it was rattling to me Also i saw the Reyland cossie going around the track. The TOTB Norris designs evo was brill aswell as the DCY Skyline.

paul from zen was driving on the day i think.

whoever it was, it seemed to be the fastest car of the day by miles, gutted for him it caught fire

porkie was absolutley fookin flying on the track, murdering everyone it seemed, didnt hear any scary noises from where we were tho? 295 wide track tyres all round means lot of grip

feel sorry for bonbon in the DW toyota chaser too, exhaust so loud they had to knock up some power sapping bungs to quiet it down, then the moment he went on track the external wastegate literally fell off giving him zero boost and zero power, then later the car caught fire as he was queueing to go out on track, and after that his brakes failed
