I have been trying to set up port forwarding and a static IP address so that I can reuse shareaza with my wireless router.
gone through to set up a static ip - and I can get on the net so seems ok.
but now I cant log onto my router to get the status and things using the normal IP address? any ideas is doing my head in!!

You yourself cannot set up a static IP.
Your provider must do this for you then tell you your address.
Sounds like you changed the routers IP address by mistake.
Try using your new static one to access it

resetting it with the button just seems to of done the trick!!
got both working now.
Ive read a guide where it says I can set a static IP address for the purpose of port forwarding. as its different to what the ISP's sell you.

After your ISP has given you a static IP
....
You need to know what IP address your computer is allocated when using
DHCP if you have more than one PC on your router.
or
Set up a local IP (E.G 192.168.0.2) on your PC and disable DHCP on your router.
If I have lost you already then get an expert round to help you.
Next, open a port up as required by your program and then enable
the rule for the port.
Bingo....
