Its £80 to transfer, I've just done it. Need form V317 from your local DVLA office. Mine has taken a lot longer than 3 weeks, cos they wanted to inspect my donor car.

Did mine a couple of months ago. Used the form V317, took into local DVLA office. Got the tax disc and MoT back practically by return of post but had to wait 4 or 5 weeks for the V5 to be returned by Swansea.

they used to do it there and then but it was taking too long, so they binned the idea and now they will just let you do the paperwork but wont be able to transfer the reg til the documents come through the post or you go to the DVLA office to collect them

like i said they were complaining it was taking too long to serve customers as there were tons of cherished transfers a day.

Was still better to wait around for a couple of hours and get plate done the same day, rather than have your Mrs. giving you earache when the postman doesn't bring it!!!!
