Default Wasters!

Why is it, that someone comes into my showroom, lets me talk to them for 3 friggin hours about a car theyve come to look at, the finance on the car, the extras they get, take them out for a test drive, practically dismantle the car so they can scrutinise it.... and the come back and say we want to go away and think about it!

I say what is there that you need to think about?

Is it the car? they say no....
Is it the price? they say no...
Is it the finance deal?... they say no

so finally i say

Is it me? they say no.....

so what the friggin hell is it!!!!!

It may be because of your sex.

They may have a stereo typical opinion and question how much you actually know as a woman and how much you spill parrot fashion

er....hang on,its up to THEM! its THEIR money, maybe they DID want to buy today, but there ARE other cars and other deals, why should they feel inclined to buy just because you showed them around the car and showed them how out of pocket they would be?im sure you wouldnt bat an eyelid at spending that amount of time looking around a house, and youd probably look at more than one,and im sure most people thoroughly check out all the odds etc when they buy an escort cossie etc...you are there to serve THEM,they are not there to serve you and boost your wages.
sorry, ive got nothing against you but if you are paid to show these people all of these things, how exactly were they wasting anyones time except their own. i personally wouldnt buy from someone with that attitude!

and on both sides of the coin its still their money, why should i feel obliged to buy something because someone is selling it?im sure she gets a wage regardless of wether its sold or not!
IMO she has no point! her job is to try to entice people to sell, why get upset if someone says no?maybe they just didnt want to spend that amount of money right there and then?or do you expect to sell every single time you show someone around a car?what an amateur attitude.

i always do that, just because it gives u more time to mull it over without the salesman in your face, and to talk things through with someone u trust rather than a salesman who, at the end of the day, is trying to make money from you so will tell you exactly what you want to hear, and maybe not the most practical thing!! i would of thought any salesman would be used to this, and if u did a good job then im sure they will be coming back to you!! i wouldnt worry about it!

crikey i didnt wanna start a full on war!!

At the end of the day i get paid to SELL cars, not show people round them.

They have since call ed and left me a Ł1000 deposit for the car, so all in all it wasnt a waste of time BUT why could they have not just said yes there and then?

I understand completely its a lot of money for someone to spend, but the car was already Ł3000 under the budget they had originally told me they had to spend! so theoretically to them its well within their price range.

big_wig_074 i certainly am not here to SERVE people, i am here to assist, there is a difference.

Id have said the same. Nothing worse than a salesman/woman putting pressure on. I used to see this sort of stuff everyday and pressure very often loses a sale. I very much doubt they were timewasters if they were there for 3 hours.

Its human nature to want to shop around for a few days to look for a better deal, is it not? I assume you 'asked' them if they wanted to buy today? Typical sales talk, that most say yes they want to buy today, to secure a btter deal.

As soon as they left the showroom, He would of said to her 'Tell her we want a free valet and servicing'. He was too afraid to ask himself. My dad does it to my mum whenever we go out and buy something. It could of been anything, They could of wanted to talk about if they could afford it. Family things which are none of the salepersons buisness. In other words things that embarress them.

cheeky dog - er no!

Benni - yeah youre right.... after speaking tot hem today, if just transpired, that 'he' wanted to say yes there and then, but 'she' didnt, cos she thought she would get more money off if they rang me back later with a counter offer! needless to say they didnt!

Typical sales person, thinking punters money is automatically their businesses coz you have stepped in the door.

Maria, can't believe you were so pissed off about it ??? Chill do your job and some you win, some you loose.

Its what gives sale persons a bad rep, bad attitudes.

Maybe they just wanted a test drive!

Its like people who bid on ebay, for something that has a reserve, and they bid on it below the reserve price! and dont bid once it meets the reserve price! What the fuck is the point!

I'm sure they do it out of boredom!

Dave Ridge I dont have a bad attitude at all..... its just that if you had spent three hours with someone who assured you that they were looking to do business the same day, you had met all their criteria, done them the best possible deal you could AND exceeded their expectations, and for them to still turn around and say they need to think about it, youd be slightly miffed.

Its like walking into macdonalds, ordering a big mac, getting 30p of the total price, and then when they bring it to you, walking away and saying, actually no i need to think about it?
