why is it when talking escort cosworths the subject seems to go around to
evo mitsubishis,my car is a 92 and compared to a 92 evo i know
what the better car is,however comparing it to a 55 plate mr 340 etc
is just bleeding unfair,yes the escort still kicks arse but come
on

If it was a large turbo i would have been tempted to have a look, the bloke with the motorsport for 8k just text me said its mine for 9k and he will fuck the other buyer off. I offered him 8,250 so i'll see if he accepts, i think he'll be mad not to accept Ł250 over the asking price cause i think i'm mad for offering over the asking price

It does sound like a good price mate even though its a motorsport, if its as good as you say, then Ł8250 sounds good.

Is there a particular reason why youve dismissed a small turbo? If you havnt driven both, i suggest you do and then make your mind up. Its been said a few times that a good 300bhp ST is about the same as a 320-330bhp LT.

Id definalty look at the white one that Jays selling, if you would consider a ST that is.

Thats just hear say. With all the right bits you can get 300 bhp out of them. Ive got 300, and a couple of others have on here too.

The reason i dont want a small turbo is because i knew a bloke who had 1 about 7 years ago, he raced an astra gte 16v and couldnt get away from it so sold it and bought a LT. Plus a lad i knew had a LT stage 3 and it was plop top end he said it would struggle from 130 upwards but get there quick

Who'd want to go 130 anyway mate.

I wouldnt let the one example put you off though mate. if he struggled with a GTE 16v, it must have either been ill or running low power.

Everyone has their own opinion on what they like best, the ST or LT, but i wouldnt let that one car put you off mate. What power was it running and with what spec out of interest?

If you drive a true 300hp ST you may think differently, as the cars are so different imo, and the different cars suit different people.

Now if you want to go over 320-330, hp then it makes sense to go for the LT obviously, so disregard the above.

The 1 that struggled against the astra was standard the other was stage3 greens etc.

Think about it how many people convert from big turbo to small turbo?????????????

And how many people convert from small turbo to big turbo????????????????

Says it all imo. I believe that a standard sm would struggle against a 16v astra, i beat a stage1 st in my nova xe, the escort seemed to hit a brick wall t 125

Well thats why it struggled then cos it was standard, as any standard escos would.

What im saying is, that if your not planning going over 320-330 with a BT, then if you can find a true 300hp ST it will be on par performance wise, so then its all down to which power delivery you prefer. Just something to think about really mate.

I prefer a car to pull all the way through the rev range, i had a fiesta turbo and that was plop compared to my series1 i know its not the same exactly but its the same principal. The frst just had nothing left above 4500rpm

Thats just hear say. With all the right bits you can get 300 bhp out of them. Ive got 300, and a couple of others have on here too.
On who's rollers though?!? That T25 turbo couldnt shift enough air to blow the bumfluff off of MikeR's chin!

Sounds like you like the power higher up the rev range, as the BT, whereas i prefer the power lower down as the ST, so you dont have to rev the balls off it. Each to their own i suppose really.

I assume youve seen the pacifica one that just been up on here and rsoc? Seems to fit your bill perfectly.

Ye seen it on here 11,995 which is about the right money as far as i'm concerned, but everyone on here seems to think differently so either its a pile of wank or i do actually have a point about being able to get a decent usable escort for that money

Most, if not all ST's with around 300bhp will have a different turbo on though mate.
