What sort of age you looking at, ive driven both the 2.8 and the 4.2 and as expected the 4.2 is by far the better car, MPG is worrying on them though

can get them from work, your spot on with the MPG though, 22ish was "excited" driving on the 4,2 iirc

My boss has a 4.2 quattro and its a stunning piece of kit, original owner was the guy who owns Weetabix !

I've converted a few 3.7 fwd and quattro models and my bosses 4.2, tbh there all roughly the same, 3.7 4wd isn't quite as punchy as the 4.2 but the fwd 3.7 goes about the same, although you can tell its fwd.

Spec wise, It depends what is on the car your looking for, some have built in sat nav and tv, different leather, electric eveything, options galore.

Electrics on my bosses have started to play up now, they are very costly to repair too so keep it in mind if you go for a fully specced model.

On gas I think he gets around 22mpg maybe more, so add a bit to that for petrol mpg.

Not exactly the sort of thing I would be bothered about tbh

Its fast and comfortable.

Rough guess would be 6 secs to 60mph

Nicely speced cars. I was looking at a few 4.2's in the middle of last year but decided at the last minute to get a 740 Bm instead. I'd deffo go for the quattro, for a big car it handles pretty well

If your going to do that then PM me mate as there is a lot of shit about.

Any modern engine has to have the correct kit or all you get is problems, which is not what you want on such a nice car.

This is one of the ones I've converted recently

Looks like a top install though, and probably worth the expense to someone doing the mileage to recoup the cost
i had my bmw 540 auto converted just under 2 years ago,at a cost of £2,300.
over that time i have made my money back and more
mine has done 24 mpg since i got it (on-board computer).i give it some stick where ever i can (dinan chipped, just over 300bhp)
if it was running solely on petrol i couldn`t afford to run it .lpg at 39.9 around here is 1 in the eye for the little engined cars.
about £30 worth of gas is good for anything between 280-360 miles.
i wouldn`t run a small engined car now.v8 on gas all the time

i just found me dad a e320 merc 1996 with a zavoli system fitted for £3200.you just need to luok for them.
