Default How do you use your handbrake?

Karen is learning to drive and the instructer told her off for not pressing the button in when pulling up the handbrake. I only use the btton to release the handbrake so i am doing it worng, but as i have never had probs doing it this way i wondered why you need to push the button in to lift the handbrake? is there a reason or is he just being a picky likkle cunt

i always push the button in when putting the handbrake on. Only because it's quieter that way

better to push the button when lifting it as well. doesn't wear the ratchet out, and more importantly doesn't make that horrible noise that makes you sond like an old granny who can't drive properly.

Avoids wear on the ratchet, thas all tho

In reality makes sod all difference.

My instructor told me the same and said it shows the examiner that you take care/pride in your driving etc etc

Load of old bollox really!!

I build up some speed, dip the clutch, turn the wheel and yank it.

Turn in the road preformed and it's loads more fun to boot

Seriously I do tend to push the button in when applying the handbrake.

if you drill a 8 mm hole through the handbrake and the button, you can put a pin through and make a fly-off handbrake for about 50p ,seems to increase rear tyre wear somewhat though
