)With my RAC membership due to expire shortly Im just wondering if anybody had any opinions on other organisations. If I am not mistaken I thought the AA were stopping cover for cars older than 10 years.

cheers

Rich (not that the RAC have been bad )

Aye they are, they are now refusing to cover cars older than 10 years if you take out a new policy. Doesn't affect existing policyholders.

Kind of buggered with Cossies really. Green Flag are pretty good and cheap aswell.

Cheers

I'm with the RAC and when my car went wrong the guy plugged in his laptop and said 'It's your coil i'm 99% sure but will find out for sure now' But after a good 30 minutes messing with the laptop he said 'Weird it's not the coil after all' And then he followed me to the local ford garage and took me home. Thing is tho he was right in the first place as it turned out to be the coil after all. Very friendly he was i must admit, Even on the way back from fords he asked me was there anywhere i needed to go before home which i thought was nice of him. And while he was on the laptop he was explaining each process clearly so even i understood what was what.

Default AA

I joined for the first time the AA last week, they wanted £135 odd for joint membership, told them I was not prepared to pay that as RAC were charging me £96 joint cover, after ten seconds they said how about £96 then, I of course said yes.
We have two cars both over 10 years old, this was mentioned in conversation and they said fine, as I had only used RAC services once in 18 years, whilst with them.
Moved from RAC due to one of thier contractors wrecking/gouging all four brand new alloys on my car, using metal buckles straps across them.
I am glad that they are clamping down, it will be better for us that bother to maintian our cars like pf lot, and not have to subside things on other cars that break down to utter neglect that could easily be prevented by many.
